Subject: Implement lift switch

Huron county Mi
I would like to put an implement lift switch on a few pieces of equipment without spending all my money at the dealer. I would like to hook it into my field iq. I have the cable on a spool already just need to know how they wire in and where to get the switch from?

Edit: I mainly want it to keep track of my acres better.

Myself i prefer the hyd ones . Same concept as whisker switches ,, but more reliable in my opinion. Can be wired normally open or closed. Can adjust a screw for the amount of psi it takes to trigger it
Ag Express sells them

Dang, didn't know something like that exists.

Couple of questions, what kind of electric connection and do you know the voltage and amp ratings on it? Could use them as 110v switches to turn on electric motors when the hydraulic systems starts, during wheat cleaning.

The ones that I have dealt with for implement switches have had fairly small wiring and I don't think they are probably rated for much more than an amp if even that much. When used for an implement switch they just close a small 12 volt signal circuit. You might be able to find one with a higher current rating by searching for adjustable hydraulic pressure switch. Another option would be to use a 12 volt transformer, a lower rated switch, and a contactor to switch the 110v load.

I have brought a few switches from temcoindustrial.com/shop/switches-relays/limit-switches. They seem to be reasonable quality for the price but you will have to make your own bracket to get it mounted. I have been using the plunger switches from them but the rest are likely fine too. I have also used a hydraulic pressure switch as previously mentioned. They generally work but there are a few exceptions. I couldn't get one to work on my planter with liquid fertilizer. I suspect that the pressure change between the fertilizer empty and full was causing problems. It was also plumbed after the master cylinder so that may have be cause some problems. I liked the switch but I was always adjusting on it. Just something to keep in mind.

We've been using these switches too, they fail every couple of years, but at $6 a pop, we can afford to replace them. We have a few extra in a box in the shop and just swap them out if they fail.

I was questioning the reliability of them at $6. I also see that they are back ordered on a lot of there stuff 3 and 4 months out. So A) they are really popular. Or B) they go bad a lot. I had been looking at the Honeywell or Allen Bradley switches and at $70 ish a piece they seemed pricey. For $6 what the heck might as well try it out.

Thanks for the link to these

The one I have had the longest is one of their foot switches. It has been going strong for several years now. It is out of the weather in the tractor cab but it is always sitting in the dirt on the floor.
