West Central IL | run...........I used to have a 3788, I bought it with only 1600hrs. It had something (mostly little things) wrong with it all of the time. 2+2=high maintenance. |

ne iowa | We have a 35 and a 37. Make sure the center pins are tight, if they are and it’s in a condition that you like you’ll get a good buy on it. I think they are good cheap hp. They are like every other tractor, keep them maintained it will be work. |

South Central Illinois | I have a 35 with 6000+ hrs. on it. Mine is reliable and causes little trouble. One big thing to keep in mind with a 2+2 is don't get carried away with the horsepower screw, and no duals on the front axle. Think of it as an articulated FWA and not a 4x4 and you'll be just fine. |

Martinsville, Ohio | That is how the neighbor's run theirs and they have beaucoup, that is TONS of hours on them...

Central Iowa | Had one and the pivot pin broke and the tractor broke in half. We ran duals on the front you just have to make sure they are spaced right and that the front and back duals dont hit when you turn and you will be fine |

South Central Illinois | That front axle is the rear of a 574 utility. 50-60 hp tractor, should probably be a little nicer to it. |

| thank you for the info definatly didnt realize the front axle is so small any thoughts on fuel economy and do they have ih ends or pioneer? |

Northern NE Panhandle | IH ends. |

| I had a 3388..... they had aluminum bodied hyd pumps (2) in them, when they shelled, a LOT of trouble with mtal filings in system. The hyd pump issues should be long ago, treat tractor as a SMALL front wheel assist and you should avoid overuse issues. Original hyd tip outlets were IH, I would change them to ANYTHING else. Check piviot pins, knuckles/shafts in middle. If I remember corrcectly, the final drives were from a 10-1486, much bigger than a 584??? Fuel economy was about same as a 4430/4440 of that vintage, nothing great but it helped to throttle back a little bit. Long story short, there is a reason they are cheap!!!!!! |

Mo | front axels are some size as 986. reason not to put duals on the front is it will take the front differential out when you get to running in the hills. If you are on flat ground the duals would work ok on the front but take them to ground like we have around here and they wont last two days. |

South Central Illinois | The rear half of the tractor is a 986 (check the size of the axle), the front differential is from a 574. There were some hydraulic issues early on, most of the cause was starving the hydraulic pump. They did not put enough filter capacity in them originally. As for the couplers, IH was OEM. They are easily switched over to Pioneer, I believe the kit to do one set of outlets is around $180. That is a definite improvement. Fuel economy with mine is pretty good, 9-10 gal per hour under full load. Sidedressing with an 11 knife bar I use about a 1/2 gal per acre. |

Southeast Florida | RUN LIKE HELL! away from it!
Those things were a total nightmare. Excellent concept and I really liked the MAGNUM MX prototype that used the articulation in front of the cab like the 2+2 had. Too bad NH was coming into the scene with the Super Steer front axle and that got scrapped.
You'd need to be an good mechanic with spare time owning a 2+2. IMO |

Central IL | We had one years ago to replace a 1566. Had 18.4 38 tires and we used 30.5 32 for rear duals. Grind em til you find them trans in it. Make sure the hood latch works. Ours came loose and it would fly forward when you try to stop. Had a neighbor who ran over his one time. |
