I have an '05 Rogator 1074. Started spraying and feeling a strange vibration. Can't put my finger on it.

My question is how do you know when a wheel motor is starting to go ? Would be nice to not have it pump the system full of shavings if it is starting to happen.

Not sure if same wheel motors or not. 1264C here. We've replaced 3 (2 fronts, 1 rear) all of ours just locked up with no warning. At $13k each for a re-man, pretty expensive. Was told no new ones are available. Also, you might get some $ back on the core depending on how bad it's torn up.

Take a case drain off one wheel motor, put in a 5 gallon bucket, one at a time and do a stall test. A bad motor will bypass a lot of oil.

Another easy way is to start out in the morning, run for 20-30 minutes, then check each wheel motor with a heat gun. Weak motors get hot faster than the others.

Cut the case drain filter and look for metal. This would be the filter to the rear of the hydraulic tank. Case drain on these motors usually doesn't show up until the motor is junk. If you do a case drain test some motors have a case flush line that will need to be capped off so not to get a false reading.
