We just made a new video that really shows how our system works on a very worn John Deere row unit. You can see what it was like before and after in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay7G3re11J4

I have had several people ask about fixing the down pressure support arms on John Deere planters. If yours look like in the picture below we will be able to make them tight again and better that new. We should have these bushings in by the middle of March. These will be a hardened outer bushing that is installed in the support arm and a inner bushing that bolts on like the old ones. We also now have kits to fix Martin row cleaners that use the 7/8" bushing. We get several calls about 20" planters and the limited room to work on the support plates. Many are just removing the support plates to ream them to 11/16". Depending on how your planter is set up this could be a lot of work to remove things that are in your way. There is a 3/8" electric right angle drill sold at Menards and we have found an 11/16" drill bit with a 3/8" shank that may work for some. If you don't want to ream or drill the support plate our bushings can be installed with regular bolts in the existing holes but there would still be the same issue as before with the bolts being able to move in the holes. Call us if you have any questions. I am posting a link to a 3/8 shank 11/16 drill bit that can be used with the right angle drill for those that are asking. https://www.mscdirect.com/browse/tnpla/80481252?cid=ppc-google-New+-...

I had a customer that called and has come up with a solution that he says is working great to get the bolt holes to 11/16" on the hard to get at support plate holes on John Deere planters. He bought this package at Lowes which has one in it that goes to 3/4". He ground the 3/4" down to the 11/16" step and is using a 3/8" right angle drill like I posted above for those hard to reach holes. I had been looking for something like this but most skip the size needed. I thought his idea might help some of you out. https://www.irwin.com/tools/drill-bits/unibit-step-drill-sets

We now have these in stock for down pressure support arms on John Deere Planters. Our other bushings will work in several CaseIH planters to replace down pressure bushings. Edit to add, that is a new JD pin in the worn hole shown in pictures. Frytown, Iowa | Is there any chance that when the tariffs come off of steel that these prices will drop some? I read above that they used to be $55? Did tariffs jump the price? I could wait till summer to rebuild if those tariffs came off and it made a difference. Thanks new uppers are $35/row from kinze $30/row from shoup so kinda priced out for time being but if you think that would change when tarrifs come off let me know. Looks like a great product. Our parts are now being made in the US and I don't know what the price of steel will do if the tariffs are lifted. What you see in old posts was before we had the flange bushing that goes into the parallel arm finished and ready for market. At that time we just offered over sized bushings, but the wear would still occur on your arms. The new prices are for a complete kit that stops any wear on parts other than ours which can be replaced. We can do only what's needed on any planter and in several ways. With our full kit you can do the upper arms only on a 3000 Kinze for $57.92 a row which includes all bolts and bushings. This would take all of the play out of your upper arm bolt holes and bushings. You can also buy just the bushings and use your own bolts for as little as $22.36 a row for the upper arms. This will be tighter than new arms and at least stop the wear on your arms. If you have any questions please give me a call at 660-689-3100. Thank You
