SE Nebraska | Has anybody compared the quality of their parts. I need to rebuild my planter and pricing both sloan is about $100 cheaper if I wait until shoup has their parts sale during NFMS. If I ordered today it's about $600 difference between the 2. |

Sw. Ill | Check the brand of bearings used. Thats probably the only difference between the two. |

w-Mn | We got some openers from Shoup last year and we had a couple of Deere ones left over from the last time we put openers on. The bearing numbers were the same in both the Deere and the Shoup ones. They were both Chinese bearings. |

Norwich, ND | Just ordered gauge wheels from sloan this morning, shoup was 3 dollars a wheel more I’m guessing they use same bearing I really couldn’t find any info it looks like the exact same wheel. Both were quite a bit cheaper than Deere so I’ll give them a try. |

| I ordered seed boots for my John Deere 750 grain drill. When I installed them they didn't quite look right but it was my first time putting the new boots on. So needless to say I really didn't know what it was supposed to look like. I started planting in the spring material was bunching between the blade in the boot. Needless to say after hours of scratching my head I called Sloan only to find out that there was a recall on those boots the manufacturer had a bad casting. I was pissed. They could have at least looked At their orders for the people that have bought them during the farm show and called them or emailed them to tell them there may have been a defect. They pretty much let people find out for themselves. Needless to say they made it right and shiped me new boots they wouldn't refund my money. Working on those drills is a pain let alone doing it twice. I have stayed away from Sloan since. I've actually been buying my consumables right from Deere. I still get some things from shop but the old saying always seems to ring true you get what you pay for. |

| I have ordered gauge wheels from both. The ones that come from Shoup are thicker gauge metal and do not bend as easily. |

West Central IL | Bought some openers for our 1790 years ago from one of them, can't remember which now. They were so warped and out of round we had to send them back. Ended up putting the Deere ones on. They would go from the proper adjustment, and a half turn of either or both they wouldn't hold a business card between them. |
