Got a problem with our 6410 hydraulics. If you step on the brakes when running a hydraulic motor the motor slows way down almost to a stop. This has been going on for a while but we where just living with but now we got a vac planter so we're gonna have to fix it. It got a one year old reman hydraulic pump (25gpm). It is a late serial number so the pump, valves ect are the same as the 20 series. Not sure where to start looking. Thanks

Separate the valve blocks on the back of tractor. Check for wear in the small disk in at the bottom between valves. if they get enough wear it will make the load-sense to act funny.

Callao Missouri
Take the brake valve out of the circut and try it. I bet it has a cut oring in it.

We have seen several brake valves on 10 series with a cut/blown oring on the load sense valve inside the brake valve assembly. It is not easy to access but can be done in the cab. This may not be your problem though. These tractors, when this oring is cut, will have a constant engine under load sound. When you push the pedals down slightly, the engine will speed up. You can hear the pump relieve the strain on engine. You might check and see if yours does the opposite and that when either pedal is pushed that the pump sounds as if it's pumping a lot of oil to the final drives. You could possibly have a large leak in the brake piston area. This would cause a loss of oil at scv because steering and brakes take priority over them. Let us know what you find. Sounds interesting.

Ok so if we hook the planter up and have the vac control turned down and turn the scv flow control up it will build more pressure (before the control block in the hose) and if you touch the brakes then the hydraulic motor keeps speed. If you open the external valve and run the hydraulics with the scv flow control it works fine till you hit the brakes then the vacuum drops from 16 to 3-4. Its pretty consistent across the rpm range. Thanks for the replies

Yep when you touch the pedals it bumps the rpm a little. It also got some hydraulic noise in the steering like its pumping oil even if the wheel is still. Don't know if that means anything or not. Thanks for your reply
