West Central IL | Currently running Michelin XDN2, have been very happy with them however, they are on nationwide backorder for 11R24.5 and don't know when they will be available. Looking at other options, any experience with Goodyear G282? Heard good things about Bridgestone 726, but not sure how well a closed shoulder will work as far as traction pulling in and out of fields. Thoughts/suggestions? TIA |

| Those Bridgestones will do you good. The closed shoulder will help you keep from spinning down but you will still have good traction. I bought a set of them when they first came out. Since then I have been buying the chinese knock off version. |

Liberty, MO | I went with BFG’s, couldn’t get Michelin’s tall 22.5’s here. BFG’s are wearing good, kinda noisy when next to a concrete barricade, but no body has complained yet. I don’t remember the BFG’s number, can look in the morning. |

| Can you get Hankook DL12's? I was a xdn2 lifer, but couldn't them a couple years ago due to back order. So switched and they look very similar and a lot cheaper |

Western Iowa | Personally I like the BFG444.
Bought my first set a few years ago. Nice all around farm truck tire. |

McCanna, ND | Switched to open shoulder on the last 2 semis. Planning on never going back to closed unless we are in a real pinch. We run saluin s753s for what it’s worth, cheap and the local tire guy stocks a few. They are also sold under different brands |

North Central Iowa | I will second the BFG444 we run them as recommended by local tire guy working well for farm use |

SEON | Michelin is overrated IMO I wouldn’t think twice. In fact I probably wouldn’t buy Michelin anyway. Why pay more they don’t stand behind the product anyway |

central WI | The Bridgestone will give u WAY better traction than the xdn2, I have personally ran both. All we run now is the Bridgestone, getting about 350k miles out of them. |

Sw Mo | Another vote for the hankook dl12s
They seems great so far |
|
|
|
Wi | Do you need the siping of the XDN2 for snow/ice? Then get some DL12s.
If you want field traction though, there's a lot of other options. X2 on the BFGs, Michelin tech at a much lower price.

West Central IL | Thank you for all the replies. Nice to hear real experience. Kinda liked the looks of that Goodyear g282, but doesn't seem like anyone has ran them. Sounds like bridgestone 726, bfg 444, or hankook dl12 is most popular. Closed shoulder with the 726 worries me a little when it comes to pulling in and out of fields how easily will the spin? The xdn2 may have lacked in that area just a little. |

SW South Dakota | Might be more aggressive tread than you want, but we have had great luck with Toyo M610 tires. Great traction and wear very well. We have a stack mover truck for hauling hay that my brother runs, it weighs 46,000 empty, and these tires have done great on it compared to anything else he tried. Spends a lot of time driving across fields to load hay and doesn't get stuck very often. Put a set on the semi a few years ago and they are doing great on it. Just put a set of Toyo M650 tires on the stack mover to see how they do. Im not sure the difference between them and the 610, but I think the 650 is suppose to stand gravel better. |

Southern Alberta Canada | We pull trains up herer and will never buy a drive tire that is closed shoulder or has half deep tread anywhere because of traction issues.
You want real traction? https://www.bfentirenet.com/product_catalogs/trucktires/app?task=Tru... and they actually have decent life if your not doing long haul. They are squirrely the first few thousand miles though. Most manufacturers offer that tread now. |

NCIA | Can you explain why your opposed to open shoulder. I put them in my last truck and not impressed. I think the directionals are better.
Our trucks pull from field a lot.
Thanks
Edit --Whoops misread your post.

Samson,roadlux,continental,
I had a set of open shoulder Roadlux installed several years ago and have been very happy with the performance. I do mostly out of field trucking. |

| Our county has 30 + trucks on the road. They run Firestone 663' s as do a lot of the guys running rock trucks. Might be more traction than you need. |

North Central ND | +1 on the Sailun's!
Very good cheap virgin rubber. Got a set of 11R-22.5's on the one semi for 5 years now and they are great! Plan on putting a set on the other semi in the near future. Nice open shoulder tire with plenty of bit, making it easy to get around in the winter with our icy, slick conditions. |
