NEMO | Had some done last week and it was close to a 20 mile haul. $15.75 per ton total, 2 ton minimum or $31.50/acre. Breakdown was something like this: $6 for the lime. $5 to haul. $4.75 to spread. It is very possible I have any 2 of those prices switched around as I was only focused on the overall total.

southeastern ohio | I just had 75 tons spread. It was 32.50 per ton. That included truck and spreading. Tim
Jdel |

Wheelersburg and Lancaster, Ohio | Seems a little high. What quarry did it come from.
Rasor Farms |
| ||
southeastern ohio | Bucyrus, I wanted hi calcium lime. Local quarry is high mag. I know I could have spread myself and saved, I don't have the time and wanted it to get done. I have put it off too long. Tim

Wheelersburg and Lancaster, Ohio | Oh. That actually seems plenty cheap for high calcium from bucyrus to southeast Ohio.

South Western, IL | Here we are getting $4.65 lime $4.00 hauling I charge $5 ton to load and spread per ton. $13.65 total per ton

MO | +1. It's close to $30/ton delivered and spread here. Freight kills us.

Palestine Illinois | SE Illinois we are $20/Ton lime hauling and application. The lime is $5 but coming 75 miles. Some companies as $26/Ton.
NMO Redpower |
| ||
MO | Wish we had decent lime within 20 miles. I get $6/ton to load and spread, $1000 minimum charge. I'm probably going to $6.50 or $7 next year unless it's 200 ton or more.

NEMO | It was hauled out of Edina. The spreader guy says he gets a better rate on the lime since he does so much volume. Passes the savings on if gets over certain tonnage. Ended up over 500 ton between couple farms close together, but I think 200 ton is the magic number. MaFiA was about $3 ton higher. Edited by cows-n-crops 12/19/2017 00:09

Frederick, Md | We are at $29 hauled to the field, and $13 to spread. So $42/ton if you hire it done.
BachRstFrms |
| ||
Southern MD | $42/ton spread here for hi-cal. least we know were in the same ball park.

NE Iowa | Lime is about $2.50/ton at the quarry. Usually a quarry within about 6 miles of any field. $10/ton total for lime, hauling, and spreading combined. The only catch is they won't apply less than 3 ton/acre. So 3 ton costs $30/acre. If you only want 2 ton/acre they only knock about $2/acre off the price.

When do you guys spread high cal lime? I mean going by a soil sample. I know you go off bs% and ppm, but what if you have a "perfect balance soil sample with say , 65-70% cal,12-14% mag , 4% k etc but your ph is say 5.9-6.0 and soil tests are calling for 1 ton of lime with a buffer ph of 6.8. Would you apply hi cal so the calcium will act like gypsum to make the ground drain a little better or would you apply mag? Hi cal is cheaper here, mag is almost twice the cost by the time it's spread. The sample rec btw is calling for mag lime

SW IOWA | Ohh ya then dolomite wouldn't be a bad option. That's a lot lower cec than I'm around but from what ive heard/read bumping the mag on that low of cec wouldn't be a bad deal. But again I don't have any experience with that low of cec.

Multi-Power |
| ||
SW Ohio | I would get $5/Ton haul, dump in field. $3/Ton load spreader $7.50/ac. spreading Over 200 Tons spread in one location or close by could probably do $1/Ton less Lime would be at cost Edited by Multi-Power 12/19/2017 19:04

West Central IL | 20 years ago lime was $1/ton here. No one was using it and they had a huge backlog of it. Fast forward to a couple years ago and you had to have a truck there when they were crushing or you didn't get any. Cheap grain prices again and like is starting to pile up again I noticed.
nekfarmer |

NE KS | $3.70 ton for lime, $4.50-$5 a mile (25 ton load) trucked, and $7 a ton spread. I've been hauling some 90+ miles one way. The guy I'm hauling for has probably done close to 10,000 ton.
Multi-Power |
| ||
SW Ohio | Hi-Cal Lime here is $15.25/Ton, 45 mile trip one way. Hi-Mag Lime is 26 miles one way, haven't used any for a few years but I believe it's around $10.50/Ton

NW Missouri | Having lime put on right now. $19 a ton - quarry is 15-20 miles away. I was told the breakout, but don't remember it for sure. Seems like spreading was $6 a ton, but don't remember how much was the lime itself and how much was trucking. No quantity discount - having somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 tons spread.
bpreuss |
| ||
MN | Beet lime here is $4/ton, about $5/ton hauling 20 miles, and $12/ac for loading and spreading VR. No discount for quantity.
