Just wondering if anyone has run an 8400r this year. We demoed one and liked it. Just wondering what everyone else’s thoughts are. Gonna pull a 16 row gladiator and 24 row 1250 planter.

I added a 65 hp Ekotune to my fully weighted 8335R this past year. Could be various reasons, but it power hopped for the first time ever pulling the same 40 ft NH3 bar this fall. I was thinking 400 hp in a mfwd might be maxing things out.

We demoed one also...Liked it we pulled a disc with it...A lot of bells and whistles but couldn't justify cost. But when money becomes no problem I will buy one lol... Tractor was really quiet and handling was great...

Have you looked at the new challenger high hp MFWD? Might be worth your time to demo one of those.

I asked earlier in the year about the e-23 transmission and the general consensus was they didn't care much for

I demoed the challenger and Deere both. The visibility, ride and price was better with Deere. Challenger power hopped pretty bad and I’m kinda nervous about their resale.

Power hopping is a balance, weight, tire pressure issue. Can be resolved

we ran a 8345r with 23 speed transmission and i thought worked very good.. suppose to be more efficient than ivt. We had it under a big load and it found the right speed and rpms pretty well. Just my limited experience though.

I demoed that Fendt/Challenger. Loud & no 3-point. Service is my concern. Not bashing German engineers but ,, i just don’t care for the service here

In your opinion, how hard would the e-23 be to teach folks how to run that are sometimes a little hard to catch on to new stuff? That seemed to be the biggest complaint is the complexity of that transmission.

I would agree - not a good fit for someone who is a novice. There are a number of settings to help with efficiency. My son set ours and with some brief explanation of what to do it did work well for me. I liked it better than the IVT but again it was limited experience with it. Maybe some initial advice to keep you hand off the throttle would have been wise.
