Subject: JD 8335RT

Camp Douglas Wi. 40miles nw of wi. dells
We have three 8410Ts, thinking it's time to trade one of them in on 8335RT with IVT, big pump with 2000-2500 hrs.

What I think I know is the rated 335 hp is brake hp at the flywheel. Our 8410Ts rated at 235 hp at the pto, but came from Waterloo hot something like 280+ hp at pto.

My question is would 8335RT IVT have the same or more power at pto or, and drawbar?

Is there anything negative with 8335RT IVT vs 8410T?

Dan

The Nebraska power test is your friend. You can probably chip new tractor to whatever you're happy with. Seems like a lot more tractor with the 8r. Over the 8010 series.

8335RT is Nebraska tested at 323HP at the PTO

If you are wanting a tractor that should outperform the 8410T, this 8335RT should match if not have a bit more. However, newer tractors lose alot of that low end torque because of emissions regulations vs the older tractors.

On a side note, this 8335RT will have an egr-dpf which can cause costly repairs & downtime.

If you do purchase an 8335RT & are lacking power I do have custom tuning software to help if it does become an issue.

Otherwise I feel this 8335RT should do you just fine matching or beating the power of that 8410T

what is your cost to tune a tractor? When you tune and something happens to the tractor is there any back up plan?
Why are some models not tunable? Can I get a south American delete kit from south America and use it legally?

We run. 8320r next to 8310. 8320r is half again more tractor as advertised in horsepower.

I've tuned just about everything with an ecm.

You will have to contact me directly for pricing with exactly what you are wanting to do as prices vary.

There is no warranty. This is a performance modification, but there are many tuners out there that cross the limits of these machines. One must know the limits and not surpass them. I haven't had an issue yet, to date, with my custom tuning as I write my own files customized for your specific needs.

Will be very difficult to get an exhaust kit from South America, but I can help with aftermarket exhaust kits with emissions equiped machinery. You would have to consider the consequences of doing third world Tuning in America.

The best advice I can give you is to contact me directly so I can fill you in on pricing & further info on emissions equipment. Feel free to text or call me.

Yes Dan, the 335r is a lot more tractor. Mine are wheeled, but, I can pull a 32' 637 JD disc as deep as it will go in corn stubble up to 2 mph faster than my 8420 does. The Ivt has a learning curve to it that I would be happy to help you out with. My email is good. I've put at least 5k hours on An Ivt and it took me about 1k of those hours to learn how to use it properly! Lol,! Sweet transmissions

The Internet

With the only issue being that US customs would never allow it off the boat. Messing with the emissions controls could well get quite expensive.

Thanks Kagen; we bought new 7520 with IVT and 741 loader in 2004, takes awhile to figure out IVT that's for sure, still not sure I'm getting full use out of it.

WHOA.....Dan, say it isn't so?....trading one of those "T"'s off?

You have one with a lot hours or starting to show problems? Remember, we been told here on NAT that the 10 series are bulletproof and so far I'm happy with that. Keep us posted.

Larry; we bought used 9630T last spring, has air suspension on the boggie wheels, I just got to drive it last week doing tillage, can't believe how smooth it rides, I usely don't do tillage, but run planter. My lower back is not the best and not getting better with age. I don't know how many more years I can run the planter, but having 8000RT would help me. Only reason I'm thinking and asking questions.

Yes Dan, I understand your thoughts. It would have been nice if the 10 series would have had some kind a suspension. Good luck and keep me posted on what you get.

I saw an 8410t with air ride cab suspension once, I’m sure there is a kit for it just don’t know where or who.

Didn't the small frame 30 series of track machines have front suspension? You sure don't hear much about the suspension if they did have it. Anyone care to comment about the small frame 30 series?

Brian; my brother Don installed air ride cab suspension on two 8410Ts about 10 years ago, it was a improvement.

Larry; 8010, 8020, 8030 have same track undercarriage, wasn't till the 8000RTs before boggie wheel air suspension. The 9030s had boggie wheel air suspension before 9000RTs.
