Anybody ever use one for farm equipment? Are they worth while? Any comments? Thanks.

To add to the o.p., does using soap actually help with the pressure washer, or is hot water more important? If soap helps, what brand?

It seems to me, the only way to get something clean is using a rag, but would love a secret recipe of soap if it worked on sheet metal.

They do an excellent job, I have used several different soaps through mine, but the best I have found for farm equipment was called tough mudder, even takes of old sprayer residue. Get an extra foam bottle when you order one if they fall over the threads have a tendency to break.

I really like mine, seems to work the best if you use that first thing on a dry piece of equipment, I went to the local truck wash and bought a 5 gallon pail of what he recommended for organic material, spray it on and let it soak a bit, still need to scrub a bit but that and hot water pressure will take care of 90% of it off first

I have used a foam cannon washing vehicles and equipment various times and works great. It saves having to scrub what your washing and the chance of scratching it but does just as good of a job. I also use the tough mudder soap and is awesome.

Agree they do work however we've found they work best on a cloudy day with some humidity and no wind. Early morning helps too. Foam last longer and doesn't start to dry or evaporate off.

Love it, bought one about 6 months ago from the chemical guys.  Got the green soap with it.  Don't need a bucket of soap anymore.  Still need to lightly scrub if you want something all the way clean.  Had an oil line blow under a versatile this fall.  Loaded the reservoir with degreaser soap.  It foamed the whole shop up, but dissolved all the hydraulic oil out from under it with no scrubbing.  Works great on implements that you normally don't scrub, you can get soap all over it and let it work.  It takes a bit more soap than they recommend to get a good foam out of it.  It's also good after using a tractor to spread fertilizer, I can foam soap all up in the under parts and let it neutralize the fertilizer that I normally don't get too.  I have tried other bulk soap from our napa and it works just as good.

Great attachment and you can literally paint something white with foam.

Gets a nice even coating of foam /soap on what you are washing. I still like to use a soft car wash brush on an extendable pole used for a paint roller to get things really clean.

I've found that warm water tends to help a lot. Really hot water tends to bake the dirt on in my opinion.

Got mine off Chemical guys on Amazon have been using the thick green honeydew soap which a little bit goes a long way.

Here are some pics not fully painting the truck white but wanted to show how it works.

Thanks to Ron L. for the tip on the foam cannon.

Chebanse, IL.....

Chemical guys? What are those?

Mudder stuff sounds interesting, can anyone be more specific on the name of it so it can be googled?

Re. the foam cannon, we've used them for a couple of years now. Bought an extra short wand for the pressure washer so the thing isn't so heavy hanging on the end of a 36"+ wand. I have found that the cannons do need to be rinsed well with clear water after use. Rinsed by running them on the pressure washer. Otherwise I had the little venturi assy inside the mixer get hopelessly plugged. Might depend on what soap you use. We use different kinds. Sometimes a h.d. pink colored stuff from Hotsy supplier (we don't have Hotsy washer), or just plain soap/wax stuff that might be on sale @ Farm & Fleet.

As another poster said, make sure you get an extra bottle or 2 because the threads on the neck are very brittle it seems. Also, we use an extra bottle for just the clear water rinse for the cannon.

Re. the car covered with foam in the OP, I'd be interested in what was used for soap there. I've never seen that type of coverage. Notice the long stands of foam dangling from the front air dam. We get good coverage, and we use 100% softened water, but still that photo has unbelievably thick soap coverage. Anyone else get coverage like that?

Does not show in my pictures below but the chemical guys Honeydew Snow Foam will paint a vehicle that white if you set the dial on the foam cannon to maximum.

Here is a clip of a system I use. It work good for big jobs where you need to cover a lot of ground like foam disinfecting a 30,000 sq ft barn. Foam quality is related to type of soap and pressure. The soap in the video is not a foaming soap, but if you add enough foaming agent you can make shaving cream. And hot water helps foam formation a little.

The foam injectors that go on the end of a gun will operate at a higher pressure and make a better foam. If you are doing a big job the bottle will need to be filled often.

Edit to add that I talk a little funny, but I can't help it.

We have one and absolutely love it. We use MS schippers soap. It's all the rage up here, and for good reason.

Thanks Von & Boog. I did not realize "The Chemical Guys" was a bonafide sales website. I thought it was just a generic description of someone in the general business of selling chemicals somewhere in Smallville, USA.

Thanks for links!!!
