south west ohio
I plan on building a "garvo" style barn. I read all of everyone's post on what direction to face the barn. My question is why does it need to be open to the south? It seems that here in southern Ohio all my nasty wind comes from the south west. How important and why do you want the building positioned a certain way?

+1, take advantage of the sun and the prevailing winds. Our prevailing winds are out of the west, run buildings east-west is the rule of thumb around here
