Bought a new Zabera charger at TSC a year ago Toast already. Give me your recommendations of a GOOD 110 volt fence charger that will last and has got good zap even in somewhat dry conditions. Out door use preferable thanks

Kencove KF13000 has been flawless for me. $399 With the remote, it’s one of my all time best buy’s.
The remote is worth it’s weight in gold.

I have bought a couple of these and been very happy.

I have some of these as well and they are nice because you have the option to make them 12 volt powered.

WY, OK

Electric fences don't work in dry conditions.  If you will watch everyone on here that loves them lives where they get at least 40" of rain a year.

That said the best we ever had were Koehn chargers and you don't have to go submit papers for a loan to be able to afford one.  Their 6 joule 120V is $210.  Only ever used their 12Vs ones but never had one fail, which I can't say for Gallagher or Waterford or Parmak.  Parmak was the best of those 3.

Texas/New Mexico Stateline
Well, we don't get 40 inches a year, but can keep cattle on wheat pasture with hot fences all over the country. They key is 1) buy one with enough joules to do some good which will cost dollars and 2) put in a GOOD ground rod. We can get by with one 8' copper clad ground. But in other parts of the country that are rocky and dry you may have to put in several. They cost <$20 for a ground, put them in.

I've seen too many guys try to ground to a t-post or a rusty rebar and wonder why they can't keep cattle in when it is dry.

I've had good luck with "Old Timer" made in Cherokee OK, or Gallagher products. M600 will be HOT on a half section single wire fence.

You had a fence problem.

yea.. the fencer.....I swaped that fencer out for another one from the landlord the first came from and it was the same weak voltage...little over 2000 volts......
I put my little Gallagher 12 volt 160 on it and it put out like 4900 volts.
...........12 volt B700 gallagher is the charger featured in the photos below and the voltage is short of 3/4 mile away form the chager and their is another mile of clean clear fence on the other end of the charger.
I do believe that when the wet vegitation against the wire gets cold and frozen/ice/ the current goes through the wire easier than when its above freezing(or at least that is the way it seems.)
The first photop shows the voltage delivered through all those seeds on the fence and the second is a photo of the kind of weeds the fence with the /b700 charger goes through.
The last photo is just on here for some fun, it was to prove VIA photo text that the fence charger had expired and its issue was BATTERY FAILURE which is no big deal, just time for replacenemt to be installed....it was the fencer that was first malfuncting and replaced with a second one of the same kind. THERE IS NO way I would do that stunt with ANY fence charger that was working condition No way, no how... (:(: I hate shocks!

Gallagher...Try'd few other brands but always go back to Gallagher..Use them both here in MN and at Ks ranch for stalks.. Also as mentioned, ground rods play a key role in having a hot fence..
