NWND | My corn was less than stellar but for the year I was impressed with my Nutech 75 day 775. And my best field was Prairie Brand 821GT. What did anyone else raise that looked to have potential on a normal year. For next year I am looking at some Rea, Thunder, Prairie Brand, Nutech and maybe try a Hefty or Wensman. |

North Central MN | Don't bother with wensman 80827. That thing is a disease factory, still made just under 200 under a pivot for us but was field averaging 240 last year, stalks we're absolute junk this year. Was happy with DeKalb 32-12 and allegiant 8330. All irrigated but know of those varieties on dryland and they do well. |

| Prairie brand 3717 will be good, PB 3564 is awesome, but is a stax only, heavy test weight, great yeild, wish I'd planted more than just the left over seed from last year.

Ludington/Manistee MI area | Renk RK 270 I haven't combined it yet but it looked great since it emerged. I picked a little along the edge with the corn picker and was nervous if the elevator on the picker was going to keep up and I wasn't going very fast. |

Eastern ND | Nk 8455 was very good for us and the Rea 2b871 I believe was very good also it's an 87 day but was as dry as the 83-86 day varieties. Thunder 4585 and NK 8618 were not far behind but wetter. The croplan 2330 was very disappointing this year. Alot of cob drop and some was laid flat while others beside were standing yet.

| when is your normal planting dates and harvest dates where you are located. |

| We plant alot of rea. The 840,820,+ 550 do well for us. On good dirt the 840 seems to out yield the 550 by 15-20 BPA but on more marginal ground or a dry year the 550 will sometimes beat the 840. We had a qtr of rea 840 with a strip of dk 3212 in the middle the 840 beat the 3212 by 30 BPA but was 1 point wetter. |

ecmn | Peterson Farms Seed has a couple good ones. 71D83 VT2 or 21D83 RR both mature like 80 day corn. 78A82 VT2 looks to be really good also, is a true 82 day corn. |

For me anywhere around May 1 and harvest can start mid October at earliest to end of November some years. |

North Dakota | Had 4 diff varieties this year. Mostly Dekalb 3212 which is an 82 day. This one was my top yielder last year and the worst this year. It did not take the stressful growing season well and had poor pollination on the high ground. Also had 3019 Dekalb that took the stress much better. I put 3019 on my poorer ground since it was cheaper and it still outdid the 3212. Also had Pioneer 8210 (I think thats the #) along side 3212 and it beat it by 30 bushel. It was also standing better and had less ear drop after the wind. Had a little 74 day pioneer and that was also pretty good. |

|
NW MN | Pioneer 7332 was solid for me. Had Stine 9101-G, it was terrible. 125k seeds per bushel, lower yield, low TW, 1-3% wetter. Trashy weak stalks. |

|
NW Minnesota | PB 851 does well for me, as well as a couple Dahlman varieties R43-26 and R43-22. |

Norwich, ND | Had a 79 day pioneer that was not good at all.. Right across the road same ground same plant date we had 3110 dekalb that was 20 bushel better than pioneer. Our dekalb was decent considering the year. Had a 83 day Latham corn, in the same area and it did roughly the same as the dekalb. Also had some Latham in couple areas where they received more rain showers this summer and yeilds were 92-110bpa. Low ground in the Latham and dekalb was 190-240bpa so the ingredients where there just missed the main one. |

|
| Those planting dates are about the same as ours we don't start until the 10th of may and harvest about the same time and we have no problems with 93 day corn making it. I know it is a long shot depending on the frost but we plant a dekalb 4310 which is a 93 day that grows like a 89 day to 90 day and it will out yield anything we plant year in and year out. It is a flex ear that grows from 16 to 22 round for us with excellent test weight and dries fast. Seems to do good in all weather conditions with excellent drought tolerance and likes all soil types so I would try a couple bags and see what happens. |

WC Mn/Dakotas | I guarantee that if you look at gdu to black layer of that "93 that grows like an 89" and you divide by 24.5......you will get 89 for the result.
Marketing lists some hybrids as longer or shorter to fit their sales plan. |

NWND | Have you guys been getting any better seed pricing for next year?

|
| No the seed we plant year in and year out the prices are staying the same that is in the dekalb numbers we plant. We are also looking at some nutech seed for this year because it is supposed to be a whole lot cheaper. And also why do you divide by 24.5? |
|
|
|
WC Mn/Dakotas | That is the true days to maturity. Gdu to black layer divided by 24.5. Any other number is just a marketing game. |
