East Central Illinois. 39.346676, -87.653484 | I'm strongly considering replacing all 4 of the 11L-15 tires on my Sunflower 4510-13 disk chisel with "aircraft tires" from Gensco. The life of any implement tire I've tried seems to be disappointing as I replace one of the four tires every 250-350 acres The price seems reasonable but I'm a little concerned with the potential for unintended consequences of the much stiffer tire, such as fatigue cracking of frame or carrier components. Has anyone experienced this? Or am I just overthinking the situation? Thanks

Hazelton, Kansas | Greg, I probably have close to 40 Gensco tires in use. There are varying opinions on NAT, but I've had good luck with them. I have experienced no frame failures from them, but I sometimes wonder about compaction. I check the air in them much less frequently than before, and I seldom have to add air. I think I've had 2 flats in the 20 years or so that I've been using them. In your size, I think Gensco offers both used aircraft tires and new 22? Ply implement tire made in India. I have had 16 of the Indian tires for about 4 years, and have not had a flat or failure with them. Regards. MDS

West Central IL | We have one set. Put them on the front of our 2wd 4240 since we use it as our mowing tractor. Never had a flat. Did knock one off the rim twice, but no more trouble with thorns or glass in road ditches.

Northern Illinois | Had issues on a Sunflower 6433-43 finisher with 12.5x15 tires Tried type of tire...American Farmer because they were 20 ply...pure crap. DOT rated Firestones Same problem with any 12.5x15 only rated at 4700 lbs. On 4 tires way overloaded in transport. Bought the replacement tire from Genesco. Reasonable and the Genesco people were good to work with. Tires were like 28 ply and rated 225 mph. Thought good, should be fine behind the old Farmall. The tires performed well. Never had a flat and Gensco put sealer in them. THE downside, they are rated at 225 mph but only a very short time. In transport they REALLY build heat. One spring we got rained out at a distant farm. we continued planting ending at the other end. We had to travel about 30 miles and it was later in the spring and warm. We blew 3 of the 4 tires. We have another Sunflower finisher with 355/60R16.5 (IIRC) A Goodyear radial tire, has plenty of capacity but are 800.00 ea We have some of those Firestone AD 2 implement tires They seem the way to go. Capacity we need, will fit 10x15 rims, radial and a meaty looking tire. As the Genesco's fail we have been replacing them with AD 2 We are probably going to sell the Goodyears and rims and replace them with the AD 2 to standardize
Noticed the 12.5x15 replacement wasn't on the page IF 320/70R 15 6150 lbs. @ 40 mph. Around 300.00 Edited by biggrntractor 10/24/2017 10:48 (firestones 001.JPG) (firestones 002.jpg) Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

Wallis, TX | I tried them on a heavy disk and didn't have good success. They would always go flat, either pinch the tube or pop the bead if they were tubeless. We've had great success with them on normal weight implements. Do not try them for highway use, they can't take the heat.

South Texas | I have them on brush equipment. As long as the sealer stays liquid they'll usually make a day, blow them up every morning due to leaks on the beads, add some sealer every 2 years or so. Make sure not to store them with weight on them or they'll pop off the bead and then it takes fire to reseat them. Things I have them on like to break spindles, I assume this is because the tires are very stiff while an implement tire is like a suspension. Theyve been over thousands of acres of Texas brush and never put a hole in any. I'd like to try some skid loader tires next time, or if I can find wheels cement truck fronts are cheap used.
