I bought a new to me tractor. Not to much information on the internet and it's about 2x older than me so I could use some help. I'm serving all the fluids. Any one know how may gallons of trans/ hydrolic fluid and motor oil that I need to buy? Also was hy Tran around when this tractor came out of the factory? It's a power shift so as I understand I should only use the $14 gal hytran. I was also wondering what the cap in front of the injection pump was for? Is it just a motor oil fill point? Lastly is the black box pictured the compersor for the ac? According to the previous owner it won't hold a charge so I'm thinking about just removing the belt and custom made bracket that rubs the other belt. NC Indiana | We run farm store universal tractor fluid (for hydraulics and trans) in our 1070's hydraulics along with every other tract that age we have.

North Liberty and South Bend, Indiana | We run about any tractor hydraulic oil on sale in our fleet. About a dozen 70/90/94 series here and no ill effects. The plug in front of injectiin pump is not a fill port, its for timing the pump. Best guess is the crankcase holds about 5 gallons and about 20 gallins hydraulic oil. Make sure you get the correct hyd filters in the correct canister!

16 gal on hydraulic fluid Case TFD fluid (hytran) ,13 qts engine oil with filter There are 5 places to drain hydraulic fluid. The compartments are connected but do not drain internally to one place. The cap in front of the injection pump is to check injection pump timing. The AC compressor is above the alternator and think it runs off a separate belt on the water pump. Edit: The pics did not load the first time for me. That is the AC compressor but it looks like it runs off separate belt on crankshaft ;-) Edited by H3f 9/1/2017 12:49

NCent. IN | I run hy-tran. About 20 gal. Probably not necessary unless you're running an orbit motor of some kind for long periods of time. Engine oil throu the dipstick hole about 5 gal. Like Farms w/ case said don't screw up the hyd filer change. I'll add also, make sure you get the bypass valve back in correctly when you change the hyd filters. Yes that is the compressor and yes you can take the belt off. There are some threaded bolts that move the compressor up and down to release the belt tension if I remember right, but I don't see them on yours.

North Liberty and South Bend, Indiana | 70 series had the compressor mounted solid on a pedastal, there is an adjustable idler pulley. Not the best setup.
