Chaffee, Western New York | Dad pulled up and shut it off to talk and when he restarted it won't engage the transmission. 12speed power reverser . No "N" flashing light on the dash, despite trying to trigger it and we know the FNR switch works because it won't start outside of N. Unhooked the seat switch and it made no change. The clutch hits a bunch of switches but I haven't messed with them. Fuses are all good. The front wheel assist light is showing the front axle engaged even though the switch is off. This is a new development. I've heard the transmission computer is a frequent failure for some machines. How do I find out?

Pickens | Hello, Key On, FNR in Neutral, Place shifters (manual) in Neutral...Rock Tractor by Hand. Key Off, Shifter(s) in Neutral now to Park. Key On...wait 5 seconds, Key Off. Disconnect Battery for 10 minutes...Reconnect Battery... Any Help? Good Luck, CF PS: Maybe others will post other quick tips...your are resetting tranny PCM, then look the speed shaft sensor on right side of tranny for dirty connections, failure etc. Hope this helps some.

Chaffee, Western New York | Thanks but that didn't work. I don't have the electrical book for this tractor. Do you know what part number I need to get one?

Spring hub in pressure plate for PTO clutch has failed, under clutch housing there is a plug that you can remove, then using a bore scope take a look around. I have a 5525 in shop right now getting the same repair. The MFD light is coming on because it takes pressure to disengage it and the transmission pump is not turning.

Pickens | All from cutting it off...tisk tisk...that would just be plain awful... Let us know, and I might try to look up later...I got a pickem up to go get! Oh, well...we never know what the day brings. Cheer Up, things can always be worse... Good Luck, CF

Chaffee, Western New York | Pto looks like it works. All the hydralic stuff works. I've only got 2000 hrs on this thing. The clutch problem is supposed to be 4-5000 hrs (guaranteed to not last longer).

Chaffee, Western New York | I'm game. Where? There is two switches on the clutch and I'm guessing (hope) that is where the problem lies. Because I can't trigger the N light when the clutch is down. The 4wd light is a bad sign of a clutch failure.

Pickens | I don't really know, but I thought those switches were only for safety devices, and brake lights on cab models...like on the later 61XX series...could be wrong...You still modulate (inch) with the clutch pedal, any gear, any direction right? But, use a ohmmeter, and test those switches...They should react and have open/closed circuits regardless of Normally Open (NO), or normally closed circuits (NC)...right? And I believe I could be wrong...the speed sensor may be located on the left, not right, sitting in the seat... Just trying to help, I just didn't want to believe its anything other than "confused" pcm, or Faulty sensor, on the tranny housing side. Good Luck, CF

Alabama | check the f/r switch then the p/r module could be the solenoid on side of transmission.

Chaffee, Western New York | Got it home and attempted to find a bore scope. Got the dim idea to crack the line to the 4wd box> thinking no oilthen you are spot on about the pump. It's definitely pumping. Transmission shaft speed sensor is next if the dealer still can't get a guy to plug in a computer. Thanks again
