Eastern Ontario | So I'm just looking for some clarity here. I've got a 90' 9500 with currently a 915 platform on it. I'd like to put a 925F on it. Can someone explain to me the differences and if the hookup would work on my 9500. From pictures it looks like a 925f has some sort of pto shaft hook up rather than the double chain I'm used it.

NW in. | There are adaptors available to make it work.

South Central ND | +1 they bolt on the chain sprocket on the combine and the pto shaft slides on. Someone used that header on a newer combine and switched the chain drives to pto.

Central Iowa | Most later models have different electrical hookups also. if it has a big round plug instead of the little one your 9500 has, it uses potentiometers instead of the black box. You will either have to convert it back or put headsight on your combine

NEND | There's an adapter harness to make the header height system and lights work, I used one on my 9610. Lankota makes PTO adapters for the drive shafts

PTO stub shafts are 2 piece and bolt to the chain couplers. 920 platform still has level land chain drives but this 693 has PTO drives the adapters work very well and bolt to the chain sprockets on the combine.

I just put a 925F on a 96 9500. What you will all need is the bolt on pto adapters. For the electrical side, I converted my head back from the newer pentiometer cost about 350 dollars from Deere and very easy to do. You will get the black box style dial a matic box and then a plug and play 31 to 16 pin adapter fro head to combine. I can send pictures of you need any. It is not to hard to do.

210 Industrial Dr., Arlington Wisconsin 53911 | Deere at one time made half shafts - pto knuckle on head side and the chain coupler on the combine side. They should be available used and maybe from Lankoda. The pto adapter as mentioned will work too. Your combine probably has dial-a-matic with the 3 position switch in the combine. If the head has the triangle shaped box on the right side and the right connector to plug into the combine it will work. If it has the bell crank style switches on the right side ( active header height) then you need the kit from headsight or at one time there was a kit to switch back to dial-a-matic. It consisted of the dial-a-matic box, harness, the small divider, and the underside plate just behind it. I have switched several over the years when Headsight company didn't exist. Many later 925's had contour master set ups on the head for combines that had feeder houses that tilted so that set up may be on the head. If it is you will see a bell crank style switch on the left side. Last many newer heads have single point hook up on the back of the head. you would need to convert this if it has that on it.
