| Have a 1997 year model 9600 combine with a factory yield monitor. Green star mapping processor is mounted on right rear wall and have harvest doc and data card in place. Brown box seems to function correctly and Agexpress set me up with a garmin antenna. Problem is that this setup doesn't record data.Have a 2630 monitor from a sprayer that maybe could be installed if I had correct cabling. Or does anyone have ideas on how to correct the old system? |

| I don't think a 2630 will help. The system was designed for use with the
brown box, and I used one for 10 years in a 9610, worked very well, and
more accurate than my 9770. I also had auto track for the combine, and
used all Greenstar.
There are things to check, your moisture tester in the clean grain elev.
and the flow sensor up above. Make sure you get the info. needed to test
they are working.
Are you harvesting right now ? And what data do you get? If you get moisture
and yield you are almost there. Does the receiver show up on the display ? |

| He would be of some help, with things to check. |

Appomattox/Fredericksburg, VA | When you say functions correctly is it reading yield? Works without the mobile processor as a yield monitor? Give us some more information. Harvest doc properly setup to document? You could put the 2630 in but would have to verify software version of the moisture sensor. Would also use a different harness from the corner post to the display.

SE MN | More info would be helpful, but I am pretty sure that the processor behind the seat is what enables you to do mapping and all you need is a data card in the slot...I think the "A" slot. Have you tried using only the data storage card and switching card slots in the processor? The other thing is to make sure the receiver is connected and working properly. I assume it is, but it would be worth a check. On those systems you can simply use the yield and moisture monitor as an instantaneous display if you don't have a gps receiver. With a gps receiver you can do mapping as well. You can only view a map on a PC in Apex or the older Field Office programs. |

| Yes the brown box reads moisture and yield. The dealership tech talked to agexpress about the gps hookup not showing up on brown box, but agexpress guy says that's normal. So I am not sure if the brown box is setup correctly to document. |

NESD | I have set up a few 9X00 series combines to do mapping and install a ATU if wanted, I have AgExpress make a harness that will connect to the 12 pin Brown Box and Mobile Processor connectors and out to the display, StarFire receiver and a ATU connector, disconnect the silver wedge box, the moisture sensor software will have to be updated to allow the GS2/3 to read the data correctly. |

| Thanks, will give agexpress a call. |

| We also have a 1997 model 9500 and use a 2630 and SF3000 for documentation and also run a ATU200.
We did have a brown box with the white keys and a mobile processor, a Gen 2 receiver (no TCM), and no ATU at the time. it ran on the 4/5 volt CAN system.
When we installed the ATU, 2630, etc, we had to exchange out the moisture sensor circuit board and install a Dual-CAN board (PF90226 I believe?).The new board needs loaded with 7.00D software I believe. We also had to put the updated 2.5V CAN terminators on the CAN bus. We also had to put in a display adapter harness to go from the dual grey/black connectors to the single GS2/GS3 square connector. We also removed the receiver bracket from the hopper topper and installed a cross bar and receiver bracket to run on the cab roof. Also when mounting the 2630 I strongly encourage you to check out the display bracket made by Sideline Systems. Can be installed in under 5 minutes. No drilling required. Remove 2 screws in overhead panel and install bracket, re-install screws.
I will edit if I can think of anything I left out. Hope this guide you in the right direction! |

Emporia, KS | +1 Deeretech I have a 9610 I upgraded to run am ATU. I had to upgrade the CAN connectors in the roof and above the fuel tank to dual can (2) since they were 4/5. Then I had to upgrade the moisture board to dual can as well. Then you can start talking harness adapter. A buddy of mine went the agexpress route and they just gave him a harness to bypass everything on the combine. My route was cheaper, plus I don't have a mess of wires. You'd just need the dual brow box adapter. Then your brown box adapter harness to the square gs3 adapter.
I can look up part numbers if you want. |

Emporia, KS | And I should add, an even cheaper solution would be to just get a mobile processor for $60 that hooks on the back of your brown box. Just need a data card. |

Appomattox/Fredericksburg, VA | I'm confused isn't that what he has already? Maybe I misunderstood the OP |

Emporia, KS | He's having issues with the processor behind the seat. They were a pain. I offered the mobile processor option as an inexpensive option for recording instead of upgrading the CAN network or buying harnesses to run the 2630 on. |

Appomattox/Fredericksburg, VA | 10-4 reread it. You're right a mobile processor is cheapest quickest simplest option. |

Hi there, found this old thread from google. I have a 9650 that had the greenstar brown box. I want to switch to a 2600 display for mapping but I also want to run an ATU 300. I can't find a harness that can connect all 3 pieces (globe, moisture/yield, ATU) to the display. Ag express has a harness but they weren't sure if it's what I need. Combine is already updated to 2.5 CAN. Do you know which harness/harnesses you had to make it all work? |

I am trying to upgrade my 9650 from a brown box to 2600. I want to run an ATU 300. The current harnesses in there will not tie all 3 components (globe, display with moisture/yield, ATU). Which ag-express did you call to have a harness made? When I spoke with them this morning they weren't sure and had to do some digging. Waiting to hear back from them. |
