Looking at telehandlers lately. 536-60s caught my attention but what's the longevity on telehandlers in general? Seems lots traded in from 2000-2800 hrs.. reason for that? Good and bad of JCB telehandlers? Thanks don't know much About them

There shouldn't be much wrong with that.

The issue that they have is that everyone wants to use them and nobody ever bothers to service them. First machine to start in the morning and last to stop at night, then all hell breaks loose when they break down.

I like JCBs the best, I'm sure they've made some bad ones, but I always liked them. They don;t require huge amounts of attention, just grease them, ideally when you fill them with fuel and keep the oil and filters changed on time and they will last a good while. Just remember that they are not excavators, they're loaders.

One last thing is that the agricultural spec machines are much better than the construction machine which are specified as little more than glorified cranes.

My first 536 60 agri had 11,000 hours on it before it got tired had a new holland with 9,000 hrs now back to a 536 60 agri with 3,100 hrs. the536 is more nimble, faster response than the new holland was. Check around fan drive if damp with oil get parts on the way thats the only issue besides a potentiometer on steering that i've had. Had a low power issue that was due to a sensor on current one. Keep some grease on them and boom shims adjusted and you'll be very happy with it. Lots get traded around those hours due that being the best trade value... Kinda like a round baler with a couple thousand bales vs 10,000 bales. A note on fan drive reason I say order parts now is it may run for another 1,000 hrs or 2 hours. Things to mental note... when starting turn key and give it a few seconds then turn engine over lets everything wake up and pressure up. Fuel filters.. mine has 2 one by cooler and one up under the pan by engine not too bad to get at. Oil if you run a full synthetic oil 600 hour changes are fine. Did uoa and at 600 hours I had about 30% life left. If cab fan doesn't blow much air even at full speed there's a filter by throttle 2 little knobs and slide it out. The seat switch for pumping up seat is cheap .... Well cheaply built and they'll want both your legs for it so if it goes just wire in a toggle. Fuel likes conditioner in winter. I run service power and haven't had an issue. Reversing fan is nice just hold switch and it blows the junk out. If you develop a coolant leak it's probably a cracked over flow tank. the heating and cooling cracks them at some point. Battery connections need to be really good so if they look a little rough clean and grease. You'll need some time to get used to that boom it does get in the way of view but very minimally. My first new holland was the old yellow one (a 430 i think) and it was a change from a regular laoder but I wouldn't go back. All in all I had a new holland lm430 a jcb 536 then a new holland lm435a and I'm back to jcb. 536
