Needing to replace the sickle guards on my Deere 640FD. Which guards will last longer and are the best value? Deere green guards, Shoup double heat treated or Sloan Express high wear guards.

Any suggestions on complete sickles?

Thank you

CFC Distributors. I've been pleased with the quality of their sections and guards.

They are much the same from the same mfr. and sellers as mentioned.

Double heat treated guards. $11.73. Raaspe sections. $1.80.

Just asking a question. I am very familiar with heat treating processes and procedures. Just how in the world do you double heat treat something ? Sure you can do it twice, but the result from the first heat is negated when you take it up to temp for the second pass. Could someone please enlighten me

I wonder this also as I am familiar as well. Possibly annealed first and then heat treated and counted as 2 heat treats cause it sounds tougher??? Just a guess
