My STS 12 broke a right front axle and fell to the ground; the axle crashing through the cab. Black Hawk County, IA | Holy crap, I've seen them twist and go down slow, but that had to be pretty violent ride. Glad you're ok. J

It had 1200 hours on it. It is a 2014. It had over 150 hours on it when I bought it 2 years ago. It was the Hagie show machine. They had demoed it at several farm shows; I was told by the salesman.

I have since discovered that they had some bad axles in 2013 models. Looks like my machine had one of those bad axles.

Mid-Missouri | Is that really what Hagie/Deere say about the axle??? If so, at what point does a company feel obligated to repair at their cost? This is a concept I struggle with. When certain components of machines are very obviously not built right, does the company gain more to simply sell more parts or do they gain more in the long run to admit their fault and fix it on their dime. When safety is involved, and/or lawsuits, sometimes the company has no choice but to fix it. This looks a bit like a safety issue also.

South Eastern VA | Damn...hope you're ok buddy. I guess if you weren't there would be pictures of that to? Lol So I know nothing about those machines, any warranty help on something like this?

Athens, Ga | The company I work for, if something like that was discovered to be a fault when it left the factory, a letter would sent to the customer telling them of the problem and what to do about getting it fixed at the companies cost.

South west of Winnipeg MB | If you have one of those you best pull those axles in till they get a fix. That square tube looks light to me for that heavy of a machine. But I guess you know that now.

Yes, it crushed the control panel and wiring harnesses. It will all have to be replaced. Including the cab frame.

Had that happen on our sts16 also. Had the other side that wasn't broke changed at the same time to the new updated one the old one was cracked. Ours happened at low speed but still isn't fun. New ones are a lot thicker material then old ones. Edited by MW farms 3/25/2017 14:32

Dale Kitchens Not sure what happened with it besides an insurance claim. We farm with my uncle and it's his sprayer. He looked after all of it and our dealer was really good to work with. I think the sprayer is a 12 or a 13 and would of had around the 1500 hours on it. Also if you look close I bet you will see that it was cracked for a while. And you may want to check/change the other side while your at it. Edited by MW farms 3/25/2017 20:27
