Okay I am probably hinting at my age in this post, but I confess I know basically nothing about old IH combines. Never heard of a 105 until today.

WNW Illinois, Henry Co
My Dad had a 101 for beans, (no cab), and a 303 for corn with 3 row cornhead 30" in 1963, My first combine was a 615, with 2 row then 4 row head (little Light on front) then 1640 axial flow then 2144 then 2366 now 8010 12 row. do more in 1 hour now then we used to do all day. but the costs are all relative too. except the corn prices that is lol

wish i had some pics of those old ones but the pics cost money we did not have so no luck there

demo'd a 205 or 305 once, but thankfully did not buy one, what a nightmare to have had to work on it

I've only seen pictures in books of the IH 105. I think I rather have the green 105.

Had a neighbor who had one , sure it was the same number. Didn't it have the "h" motor? That had to be powerful!!

Father in law had a 1-0 something pull type sitting in the bone yard when we got married back in 1984.   I think it might have been a 103?   Sure looked small, that's all I remember.

I ran a 91 for a neighbor one fsll when I was in HS. Neighbors had a cab. With the lever steering you could pick back & forth with a 2 row corn head. I could almost pick as much with it as we could with our JD55EB with 2 row head because of not having to pick in lands like we had to with the 55. When it came to beans the 91 was no match for the 55. Ran a 13'platform compared to a 9' on the 91.

I always wondered how that would work with the steering clutches. Never bothered me on the swathers. Dirt

Seat cushion is still in perfect condition , No cracks or worn out spots , just a little faded.. They built stuff to last back then .

My book says they were built from 1967-1970. Had a 47 bushel tank, 4 cylinder engine 10 ft head and listed for $7665. Power steering was $166. If you did not want the 10 ft head the combine was $6324 with no head.

The 91 was IH. Steered opposite down hill as up hill, that will tighten your pucker string.

I have sales literature for the 105, don't believe I have ever seen one in person though.  715 and a few 615s were the big sellers for IH here by that time.  Grandpa had a 205 briefly that got traded for a 615.

My neighbor had 2 of them about 20 years ago, both had the white bins and one had a cab. They also had a 2 row corn head for one as well. I remember seeing them pick corn and going so slow we wondered how it got the ears to snap off the stalks.

So was the 05 series between the 03's and 15's? with the 105 being the smallest?

Tom Graham: That's neat you recognized the one picture. Hope I didn't steal it, I just pulled those two randomly off the web.

The 105 was produced same time as the 6-915.
