Can you experts recommend the Chevy of milk mixers? Can't afford the Ferrari version, want to avoid the yugo. Thinking stationary, or mobile if price is right.

How many are you feeding? Using 7 gallon pails and homemade mixer on a drill in wagon. Clean up fast and easy! For around 55 to 60 head. Have seen homemade one from induction tank with hose system and pump.

Poly dome makes a really nice one in any size you want can pull through just about anything. Foxworthy ag supply in Kent city is a dealer for them. I believe the 70 gallon is around 2500 hundred dollars and the 150 is 2900 hundred. We pump from our milkhouse mixer to the tank. One nice thing about the polydome portable milk master is if my milkhouse mixer went down I would still be able to mix milk in the portable one. It constantly agitates while we feed. It's about the cheapest one you'll find.

I've seen it done with an old clothes washing machine.  If you spend a little time on it you could replace the drum switch with some toggle switches to control the agitator and the pump.  Kind of "trailer park" but it would work and not cost much.

I just bought one of the ones from polydome, going to pick it up tomorrow. The guy only used it a couple times before he wised up and quit feeding calves. I gave him 1500 for it, they are like 2300 or so new for the 80 gallon ones. If there are any guys around you that used to raise veal maybe stop and ask one of them if they still have the mixer. My dad had 2 at one time and they are ptetty simple. Kinda makes a guy wish he still had his so I wouldn't have to spend 1500 for one haha

I use a old bulk tank it's the round horizontal type maybe 150 to 200 gallons use the agitator to mix the milk, I also cut off the compressor and hook those lines to my hot water heater to move hot water through the cooling coils in the tank, i only use that when i'm starting calves to keep the milk warm. Stainless steel cleans up great.

I'm going to try a picture of what I use, induction cone and then I use a drill and paint mixer as others have mentioned.

I made one for my wife out of a pickle barrel for my wife . She feeds 40 - 90 calves most of the the last three years . She used five gallon buckets up to the time that I got this built . I used the barrel because you can clean every inch of it with a long handled brush . I want to build another one that has a hose and pump with the ability to meter 1/2 and one gallon once we find the best way to setup the hutches . This one can be used back up because of its simplicity.
