20 Miles West of Indianapolis Indiana | I'm using 1 quart of SureStart, RoundUp, and 1# of Atrazine for my corn program. On a couple farms I've seen Giant Ragweed escapes in areas I've had them before (heavier pressure areas).
What can I add to help with GRW escapes?
Laudis or Capreno would be a great addition, but I'm trying to find a cheaper option that would be more suited for the GRW issue.
Edit to add: this is an early post app. Corn is planted into a clean seed bed that had been either fall chiseled or fall sprayed with Simmazine

Minnesota | More residual but that's an easy button.
HPPDs I like Laudis for rags. |

20 Miles West of Indianapolis Indiana | Adding another pint of SS isn't out of the question. Would be less than 1/2 the cost of something like Laudis or Capreno. |

SE Wisconsin | You might have to go two pass, use atrazine and surestart pre at 1# and 1.5pt then come back later at V5-6 with Roundup Status or straight Status/DiFlexx at V8. We've seen these later emerging biotypes needing a later application to get them. Honestly I have never been happy with residual we get with HPPD's at that stage, I'd be looking at growth regulators. Verdict pre is also a good option followed by the previous post program. |

Central IA | Generic callisto. Or switch to a 2 pass system. Hard to get good LSB control with a one pass. |

near dyersville iowa | I have terrible ragweed problem. I have to have 2 pass system. For awhile, I was even spraying as late as possible to get the late emergers. Ive got it under control enough now i can spray earlier and be ok. I use harness pre. rup and status post. |

SE MN | I don't know if you are using surestart as a pre or post. Around here it works best as a pre, it can be hit or miss as a post. I have had better luck using Halex GT and atrazine as a post. |

Lancaster, OH | 2 pass, Brian, is the only consistent control for Giant Rag. The seed is very large and can emerge from very deep. Your pre-emergent control products that control it are root absorbed so they would need to be at emerging root depth to control it and you can't get products that deep without diluting it too much.
Your pre program should be pretty good but follow post. If it is RRC, go with the escapes are small and the same with LL. Either should be very good. |

| +1 on the Status. We have had excellent luck using PowerMax / 2 1/2ox Status as a post after Degree Xtra / Atrazine. Usually the GRWs are drooping by the time you pull out of the field with the sprayer. |

WC Indiana | I haven't tried it but if you look at the Purdue weed control guide Stinger is rated a 9 on giant rag along with Status. I have used Status and it is a sure kill on giant rag but I don't think it has a lot of residual. I think the Stinger does have pretty good residual. I am using Resicore on about 1/2 my acres this year since it has the Stinger in it.

20 Miles West of Indianapolis Indiana | Is their stinger in sureStart ? |
WC Indiana | Yes I was looking up the half life and saw surestart was Clopyralid also. Looks like Status later would be a good choice.

20 Miles West of Indianapolis Indiana | Could be that adding more stinger could get it to a "potent level"? I'll have to ask about that. |

Central, mn | Just run Laudis instead. |

Floyd County, Iowa | I've been plagued with GRW for years(along with wooly cupgrass, velvetleaf, and waterhemp). Every time I get it under control, we get a turd-floater of rain and more seeds wash in from neighbors upstream.
I use 1.75 pt SureStart and 1/2 lb Atrazine, preplant with my UAN 28%.
Follow up (post) with 32oz glypho, 1/2 lb Atrazine, 2.5 lbs AMS, and sometimes a shot of Callisto. Cleans up any new flushes and stays clean. |

SW Ohio | Add another pint of SS and another lb of atrazine. Works well "here" for an early post, no till and no pre either. |

central Mi. | stinger works good on ragweed |

20 Miles West of Indianapolis Indiana | What would stinger cost and what rate? |
Lancaster, OH | Stinger is primarily a post product, not a pre emergent. |

20 Miles West of Indianapolis Indiana | My entire chemical program is post |

ECIL/WCIN | I've never met a herbicide that does very good on giant rag as soil applied residual. I have great luck controlling the Indiana state tree with a two pass program with Callisto in the post trip. As an added benefit, it's also deadly on twh. Which you may not have yet.....But you will! |

NW Central Ohio | Resicor should be pretty good on Giant Ragweed. Stinger needs about 2oz on it's own for GR control...on up to 4 oz for Canada Thistle control. I always liked the Buctril/Atrazine/Stinger mix I used to use next to fields I couldn't afford any volatile drift from dicamba products in. Status with a little Stinger should kill GR like nothing else....(As long as it's compatible, we sometimes forget to look at the label for restrictions).
WC Ohio | If they are starting to come up when you spray I would add 8-10 oz of dicamba. If the corn is still small enough. If it is bigger Status would be my choice. |
