Northern Texas | Is there a reason why these sell so cheap? I figure there's usually a reason....lol

|
midwest | electric six speed shift
cost of parts and labor if you have to have it worked on, the world is not flush with GOOD case techs. true case techs, not ih techs |

SC WI | Good tractors but they required an operator to use some common sense to keep the powershift alive. If maintenance wasn't kept up with or used a cheap hydraulic oil, the clutch packs could come apart or debris would hang up in the spools in the valve body, causing shifting problems if not addressed at the time it would continue to get worse until you had a big repair bill on your hands. Or the would leave the powershift in reverse while doing stationary PTO work, that was a death sentence.
Case 504 motors were probably the best of there time in terms of torque, longevity, and fuel economy. The 94 series cabs were also the nicest of the era right along with the 80*0 Allis cabs. |

Western illinois | Bad reputation about power shift problems. I've owned three different 94 series tractors in the past. Didn't have any major trouble with any of them. Some people never change tranny fluid or filters and expect them to last forever. They are a good tractor for their age. Strong motors and roomy cabs with good visibility. |

midwest | true story, they will not handle abuse of operation and contaminated oil. or the pto blunder
and there is way too much contaminated transmission oil out there working that should be changed
we had a 2390, no problems, but kept hytran brand and clean in it |

| I have a 2394. Like it a lot, including the power shift. It doesn't do the work it used to do, only because it doesn't have mfwd. Have thought about selling it from time to time, but always decide against that idea, as it is worth more to keep around than what I could get selling it. |

Northern Texas | We have never had any dealings with Case tractors. These always looked good to me and I wouldn't mind trying one, especially for the price....BUT....I guess it could be hard to find one that has been treated right. We are very particular about maintenance and take great care with our stuff, but who knows how the previous owner has treated it.
I looked at JD 4755 the other day, as this is what I've mostly been looking for. But just thought I'd ask around about the Case 94 series. |

| Brother in law had one. First time he changed the tranny oil pieces of it came out the plug. Anything over scrap price should be considered a premium. |

West River, SD | Because its an 80s era rowcrop tractor and its not a John Deere, of course! JK
Naw, I think that powershift thing is a legit problem

S.E. South Dakota | Here finding anyone that knows how to work on them is the trouble. All true Case men have vanished. |
|
|
|
Western illinois | That was probably it's first time, period. That's the problem. |

|
Callao Missouri | I've had a 3594 for 10years or so. I really like it. I did have to do the powershift but it was a really simple one to work on. Very nice cab for their time. Mine plays backup tractor to my feild cultivator & planter tractors. It bales all the hay, and does half the fall tillage. |

|
| just sold 2394, with powershift gone , at 7000 hr.s ,, motor never touched, except a water pump, used no oil, lots of power
over the life changed several 6 speed shift controls, other than that it just ran.
dislikes were the rough ride , could be all 2 wheel drives , i just hate to drive anything but an articulated 4 wd in the field.
along with that getting stuck. and stiff hydraulic controls , no feathering stiff PTO control.
pretty civilised for the time , good ac , good cab, the six speed was pretty smooth shifting.
if the parts had been reasonable , , i might have fixed it. but to hand it to a dealer and it cost more than the tractor's worth. no

Central Wi | I've got a 2594 I've been trying to sell but not having much luck. I've owned it for 6 years. Needed a bigger tractor to pull bigger planter. I thought the white ones were pretty cool. I've changed the hydraulic oil and filters and put a circuit board in it to solve a shifting delay. It got a few hours on the disk last year and about 40 hours on cart duty. I guess it will sit in the shed for a backup because I don't want to give it away. |

SC WI | I think I know what tractor your talking about if your in WI, it was on my short list but ended up buying a different Case, 3 speed hurt you if I am indeed thinking of the same tractor. It's just still a buyers market out there. |

Central Wi | It is a 3 spd. Pulling the planter and doing tillage the transmission is fine. Put it in gear and go all day. I have pulled silage wagons with it for a friend's dairy and it's not so user friendly there. They don't shift ranges all that easy. Plenty of power though. |
