I have a 225 that I got this year. Like it so far, but I have not used it like most do, as I have no livestock. Looking at putting a wrap on cab to move snow.

We have 150hrs on a 205. We really like it so far. Only one minor warranty issue that was dealt with. Cab visabilty is really nice.

I have about 400 hours on a 260 and I really like it. I'm always alone and I can get in and out easily even with the boom raised up. I don't have much for livestock but use it for dirt work and snow removal. I grubbed out a bunch of trees with it this fall also. The only problem I had was a loose fitting under the cab that leaked a little oil until I got around to looking for it. Mine has cab and air and even a heated seat. Much better than the 1974 Mitey Mac it replaced. Phil

I had a couple 170 JCB loaders a few years ago.

I basically liked the loader, but climbing over crap covered tires seemed to make my coveralls a total mess.

Then the left 'arm rest' that flips up still stuck out 6", so I still had to maneuver around that to slide in the seat. Why they didn't move the pivot point about 6" further back and make it so you had a clear shot to the seat is beyond me. They were so close....... Maybe they improved that on the newer ones, I haven't looked at one in a while.

We had a demo brought out to a tear out project we were working on. The salesman said the boom was unbreakable, and it was for 15 minutes. I didn't like the flex in it if you had more weight in one side of the bucket or forks, and the cab door had huge gaps where it didn't seal properly. Granted, we work them harder than 99.9% of owners, but i wasn't impressed. Your mileage may vary, demo one and see.

That is what I expected.......I welded uprights on a few Gehls and Cases over the years that guys abused and managed to break. If they can snap a side off a twin arm boom, I can't see one holding up. I won't be switching from a Cat any time soon.........

I have a 185 robot and love it.

you actually broke a boom XIX? when I bought mine they had a lifetime warranty on the boom.(transferable to any new owner) Not sure Wether or not the new ones are still that way.

we lease new Cat skidsteers as well, but I'd still rather run the old JCB. They are actually coming out with a new telescoping boom skid loader this year. dealer showed me pics of it yesterday and it looks pretty friggin cool!

The only thing I hate about JCB is their parts prices.

Yes, if you like getting in/ out no matter where the boom is at, look at Kubota, their doors roll up and above your head. Can latch them up and run with door open if wanted instead of removing completely.

I'm 66 and operate a cow-calf operation in the Ozarks. Did a lot of research online and reading on NAT before buying a 1110T Robot JCB on tracks and a heated cab. I like being able to step up and into the cab from the side. My shins are already marked up from my 1086 ladder, so I didn't want to get banged up more from crawling in a front door. Also, if you read online, there are lots of horror stories about people getting mangled getting in and out of front entry machines. The machine is supposed to be 94hp, but it works like it has more. I have a 416C Cat backhoe and it sits a lot more now. I'd recommend a JCB and am happy with mine.

We didn't break it, but when we were done the left side of the bucket would touch the ground and the right was still 6" high. She had a good twist to her. Never heard if they twisted it back or replaced it. Tearing out 8-12" concrete w/ rebar is hard on anything, even harder on single booms, but he said work it hard. We should be the torture test for equipment, these guys could break anything. Our bobcat rep had never seen anyone snap both main lift cylinders either.

Drove the 260 Eco Model they at my BIL work. Defiantly different. Get in and out was backwards and push on the controls and think you're not pushing hard enough so push harder and everything takes off on you. Theirs was bought new and it's in its second engine -. Think he said it has 1000-1200 hrs on it now 2 yrs old. The dealer told then they needed to run it wide open all the time even when it's setting so the regeneration system function correctly as the unit doesn't tell you when it's regenerating which is likely why the first engine failed. I know none of them want to road it as they've all bumped the controls and planted the bucket in the pavement. That said my11 yr old has not issue running it(he's ran it more than I have).

edit to insert model #

Side entry is great. The rest of the machine I vote down for serious use (1000+ annual hours with multiple hired personnel operating)

Side entry great. Visibility great. 2000 hours on an early model 260and no major problems. Had a few things fail under warranty, hyd hoses wore, throttle actuator, relief line from from drives failed. Big learning curve with controls. If temp is under 10F we don't even bother starting it, steering controls are dangerously sluggish in cold weather, you would not believe count to 5 after pulling back on joystick until stopping

Other brands with EH controls suffer from the same cold weather issues. Takes awhile for them to warm up. Although I've felt the JCB controls had a poor feel even when warm. Tough to get EH controls tuned just right and everyone has a different preference.

One thing that does help is to get a short length of hydro hose that will plug into the auxiliary remotes and cycle the hydro oil a bit when 1st starting the loader in cold weather. my old 185 will literally drive itself through the barn wall with no warning when it's cold. I assumed they fixed this on the newer models durallymax. Not so?

I believe it's simply the nature of EH controls. Our EH Cats have always been poor in the cold as well. Pilots usually warmed up quick. Never had the EH drive itself, but you have to think 5 seconds ahead if you want it to stop. Some guys start throwing the stick around and piss it off, so they'll throw unexpected wheel motor movement codes and shut you down until you restart. Easiest to keep it in the shop when available.
