C IL | What is the good bad ugly of a case 1570? What jobs can it do around the farm?

mercer county, il | would be somewhere 4630 or 1466 ish everyone will get on here and bash the powershift, and everything else about them, but for the right price (5k if it is really super nice) you get what you pay for, sue it until it dies, and boneyard it if it is tan it is an early and white if it is a late, late 70's vintage pro's, solid motor, economical to run, roomy cab, but by the time they reach that age they rattle like a year a round

A 1570 is equivalent to a 4840, 180hp, way more than a 1466.

mercer county, il | sorry, I don't think I have ever been around either one of the tractors I mentioned that did not have paint burned off the side, I should have stated that, I was trying to compare size, era, and what guys use the same tractors for here

Farmland, IN | The 1570 was the big dog of the 2wd's when it came out, rated at 180 hp but most were pushing 200 from what I've been told by anyone that owned one. Is an improvement over a 1370 due to it having an extra friction disc in the power shift clutch pack and an extra brake disc also. Power shift longevity all depends on the operator, I own a 1570 with over 6000 hours and the power shift or rear end have never been touched. Also, they came out in 76 so there were not any desert sunset colored ones, only white. 30 Miles Northwest of Columbus Ohio | A good tractor but not as Maneuverable as a John Deere. It is a lugger, puller, but not as easy maneuvering around the barnyard.

SW Ontario | We have a 2590, the next newer version of the 1570. Very similar. I love the 504 engine, good power and sounds great too. The powershift transmission is not a precision instrument, real pain in the butt hooking stuff up, especially if the brakes are weak. They are great tuggers. We use ours mainly on disk and field cultivator.

SW Minnesota | Must be the same motor and transmission as 2470 4 wheel drive .

SW Minnesota | Did they use different front axle than a 1370? Brother had a 1370 but it seems like the front axle sat back farther than the one in picture

Moreauville LA | Those case tractors had a setback option IIRC.

Southern Illinois | We have had a 1070 w/power shift, 2390 w/ powers gift and still have a 1175 w/ no power shift. Had to rebuild the rear ends on both tractors with power shifts. I was told by many individuals the planetary gears in the power shifts were soft and for years we would find shavings in the tyranny oil when changing. Problem with original gears was improper heat treatment, replacement gears were harder and took care of the issue. If they were never were used for tillage they would probably last a longtime. Ours were, so they failed in the 4000 hour range. The 1175 on the other had 4 gears and 2 ranges with just a simple bull fear configuration and it was bulletproof. More than once I had it stopped in its tracks pulling a chisel plow when hitting a hard spot and it would just kill the tractor. Fire it up, lift the chisel plow a little, hit it at a different angle and away you go.

Farmland, IN | Would be the same as a 1370 from the factory but I installed an aftermarket kit on my 15 which moved the front axle forward about 18" or so.

Texas/New Mexico Stateline | I grew up driving 1175s, a 1270, 2390, 2590 and they were all OK tractors. The cabs on the 70 and 75 series were not as nice, and quite a bit louder than the 90 series. Engines were pretty good on all of them. The 1270 broke a valve, but it may have been the overhead was not set properly when it was overhauled a year or two before. Other than that they were pretty bullet proof. Oh, and the way the AC compressor was mounted in both series was not the best design, and they have all given problems with broken bolts and stuff shaking loose.

Southern Pa. | I used to work for a farmer that had a 1070, and later a 1570. That 1570 was a beast. It would run out of traction before power even with duals. I'm sure it had it's tail twisted.Pulled a NH 900 pull type harvester, but the PTO couldn't take the stress. The 504 engine is definitely the strong suit of these tractors. Not as nimble as a Deere of that vintage, but a 1570 would blow the doors off of a 4630 Deere for raw power. (Bet the Nat crowd never expected to hear that out of a green coolaid drinker like me, LOL!) More comparable to a 4840 for power, IMO. Had a lot of fun running that tractor. That was 30 years ago now.
