Fence builder here paying $40 for big corners and $15 for line posts. He can't get enough of them. He sets them as soon as they are cut.

Wow
Depending on size, thst sounds high priced.

Normal fence post are cut 8 ft for corners, 6.5 ft gor line post. Iften hedge post I have bought are a few inches longer.

As for price, around here, with lots of freight on them, they normally are priced slightly less than creosote post, about the same as the worthless green or penta treated post.

+1. We are getting them from southeast Nebraska or Kansas, usually 6.5-7ft and between 5-8$ a line post. I don't buy corner posts, either use oilfield pipe or the free telephone poles the public power district will give away.

I agree it is high. He uses a lot of posts. 8ft lines and 9ft corners. He won't set crooked junk and usually sets bigger posts that most anybody. Had to put off building fence for my neighbor cause he couldn't find enough posts, those are the prices he said he would pay if I knew of any available.

Old growth or regrowth hedge?

My bil cut some a few years ago and we had one guy wanting 9-10' long cornners as big and strait as we could get. It's a lot of work and I donated my time and bobcat to the project.

He made money doing it but I don't know if much of you count the time we both spent....

Nothing less than 9 or 10 ft. Buy some at auction market every now and then. Only thing worth putting in the ground.

It's painful but we call the local public power districts every Friday morning to see if they have any poles and they are first come first serve, when they have them they will give you all that you can load

If our power company has any used poles, they sell them by the foot useable.
