Southern Ohio | I bought this mower last year and have only cut maybe 70 or 80 acres total the past two years. It's my first discmower of any sort so I'm pretty ignorant about them. I noticed I've got some flex in the bar about a third of the way in from the right side and some knives want to touch the bar now. Do I have something broke in there causing this flex or do I have junk mower now?

North Central Texas | Check the bolts (26) at the sag. They need to be really tight. Rock guard comes off to get easier access to the front. May also want to look at the dowel pins (30) and the holes they fit into. Originally the spec was 50 ft/lbs torque plus one full turn or 6 flats. The latest spec is oil the threads with 80-90 oil, torque to 50 ft/lbs plus turn the nuts 5 flats. I split the difference and oil the threads and turn the nuts an additional 5 1/2 flats. With the head latched up, run a string from one side to the other. The max sag should be 3/4" in the middle. With the head on the ground the max sag should be 1/2" in the middle. Cutterbars since 2005 have had stepped spacers to correct the sag. For prior models there was a shim kit available to correct the sag if the sag was out of specs.

SE Iowa | If the bolts are loose I would take it apart and check the drive shaft (22) between the two turtles running at an angle like that will wear them out fast. I had the same problem when I dropped the mower off the road getting over for a car, broke one of the bolts and didn't know it till like your started to hear the blades hit. Lucky new shafts and bolts fixed mine. Your going to need the special tool to tighten them. My dealer let me borrow theirs.
