Subject: Massey Ferguson 5445 Pros and Cons

What are the thoughts on the Massey 5445 tractors? I came across a 5445 with low hours, the Dyna 4 transmission, MFD, and a Massey 940 loader. It is a 2008 model with cab, air, heat, ect. It looks like a stout tractor, and I was just wondering what the thoughts were out there. It would not be anything more than a tractor for the loader, with little or no field work required. The heaviest load to pull would be 8 round bales on a PMC bale wagon. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

New Brunswick, Canada
They are great tractors especially the dyna 4 models. Great on the loader.

Drawbacks? They are heavy for the hp so not the fastest uphills on the road. The clutch switches arent good unless they have been updated which is easy.

We have a 5455, basically same tractor. Its good towing up to about 16 tons on the road, 10 tons or so off road in hills. We run a round baler with it and a discbine. I've plowed with it as well, strong 3 point hitch on it.

Check the front axle pivot, if people don't grease them it gets sloppy and wears the splines on the front driveshaft.
