Does anyone have a source for 9 tooth idler sprockets other then Calmer? I'm talking about the corn head gathering chain idlers that gets used with 6 tooth drivers. I have the slow down kit from CFC, they stopped selling due to patents Calmer had on them. I'd just like to get replacement idlers as they don't seem to last like the factory idlers. I have one on hand now, but 2x on the head quite taking grease. I normally will use 1-2 during the growing season. I grease daily. Thanks in advance. Ty

Good luck with that one.....we were pretty much told to cease and desist. How can someone get a patent on a sprocket with a specified number of teeth on it? They did however.............look at the prices now! Go figure.

Try looking at shoups for the weld a sprocket system. Buy the correct hub and find the correct hub and weld.

Someone needs to sell a gathering chain that will work with a 6 tooth sprocket at the top and a normal sprocket at the bottom. I don't like what calmer did either. Sprockets are ridiculously expensive now. Not sure what I will do when mine wear out. I like the slow kit but maybe not that much.

Were they bluffing to make you quit?

Just sell a 9 tooth idler but don't say what is for. Maybe a manure spreader.

I agree the price from Calmer is insane! I'd love to know how they got a patent on it also. CFC had them at a very reasonable price.

Would you be able to sell a shorter chain to work with 6 tooth driver and 8 tooth idler? I'm not crazy about 9 tooth to begin with.

That's absolute BS. Forgoes my thought of ever buying anything from Calmers. I think patents are good but that is just wrong. They were way overpriced. I have bought 2 sets from CFC and been very happy.
