Central ND | What is the NAT opinion is of Abilene machine parts? I need to put new hammers on an s690 chopper and they appear to be the cheapest way to go? They are considerably cheaper than Deere and even a bit cheaper than redekop, the redekop is reversible but they are just a straight knife instead of the paddle type so I'm a little unsure what to use at this point?

Wheelersburg and Lancaster, Ohio | Good on used parts I've bought from them. Not sure about new and aftermarket. I've had some poor quality from Sloan. And nothing but great from shoup.

Marion,ks | Some are good some are not. I had bad luck with a Abilene Machine Chaffer and seive I put in my 8820, they are made in Argentina and are not nearly as good as a Lowen setup in our other 8820.

It only took 5 tries for me to get a hydraulic pump that worked.

Washington Co Ks | I don't know to much about their new parts. I've gotten used parts a number of times and had good luck. I thought they treated me right on used parts. One time in the middle of harvest I had a problem with a Gleaner R50 that I had. The dealer was having trouble locating new parts and called Abilene. They had what I needed still on a combine so I headed out to get it while the mechanic finished taking mine apart. When I got there they were still trying to get it off and finally gave up. The guy at Abilene thought they had what I needed in the shop but wasn't sure. He apologized for not being able to get the part off and sent me home with the part from the shop. He said that if it was what I needed I had a free part other wise I was out a trip. Between what they gave me and what the mechanic had and some shims that I had we had the combine back in the field the next afternoon.

Central KS | I have bought quite a few parts from them. Shoup parts are better quality, and much better customer support.

West Texas | Bought three sets of shoe frames for a 9760 before I finally got mad enough to go pay double for the real John Deere parts. Hard lesson learned. That is not a fun job to do. Also bad hydro pump and bad head on a 4640 project.cab kit for 4450 that didn't fit, wobble box for 930 header that was locked up upon delivery. I must have been really dense to keep trying to do business there. Hope you are reading this rant Grant!!!!! Edited by Concho 7/16/2016 08:50

Strasburg North Dakota | We havent had the best luck with them. I ordered 32 new closing disks for our IH planter this spring. They showed up in a few days but did not come with dust caps I was planning on reusing my old caps but they didnt fit the new disks. I called them up and they sent out caps then after about 300 acres we started to have bearings going out. It took 3 times calling them until they agreed to send me a new set. The new set came and there was about 3 different brands in the box that all took different kinds of dust caps and there was 32 dust caps in the box that didnt fit any of them. I called them back and he agreed to send me 32 different ones direct from the factory with dust caps. They showed up and guess what no dust caps. Called them back and they said the company that makes them is no longer is including caps but they would make an exception this time. We also had gotten some opener disks for the planter from them a few years back and after a few rounds the bearings wiggled in the hub we called them up and they sent out another set. The replacement set wiggled right away so we got our money back that time and bought them from IH that time. I have bought a few things from them that we have had good luck with. I put a step kit on my 1466 from them that is not a K&M brand and its good quality. We also Have bought several unloading auger extensions for IH combines from them and have had very good luck with them but we are done buying planter parts from them.

NE Iowa | I bought an overhaul kit and "rebuilt" injectors from them for an older tractor. They were the cheapest, not always the right move. Engine kit was fine but injectors looked pathetic when I opened the box. I put them in my new engine, started field cultivating to break it in, after about an hour tractor started misfiring and I thought what the %&$#. Tore apart my "rebuilt" injectors and found rusty, broken springs inside them! Obviously they just pulled injectors from their junkyard and sent them out as rebuilt. I got my money back but, still got screwed out of my cores. The parts guy there was also not nice to work with. On a side note I bought a set of injectors from BK Diesel in Dubuque, IA. Very friendly, knowledgeable people. Injectors were actually rebuilt with all new parts for a reasonable price. Still going strong 500 hrs later. I would definitely recommend them.
