canada | I have a 1993 6175 white with an 18 speed funk, it's got 5100 hours and I changed all fluids and filters when I got it at 4500 hours. Since then I've been following the schedule in the operators manual.
The power shift filter light came on at 230 hours last week so I changed it early (250 hours), today it came on faintly at 1800 rpm, I throttled up to 2000 and it went out, I throttled down to 1700 and it came on brightly. I stopped and idled at 1100 for a couple minutes and it went out. I shut down, checked levels and everything is good. I fired up and am finishing spraying this field then heading to the shop (the light hasn't come back on and it shifts fine). Is it possible the sending unit is bad? A plugged filter should stay plugged? The sending unit just trips if there's a pressure differential between the inlet and outlet of the filter so rpm shouldn't make a difference? I use agco filters and the spec on the coop THG says it meets agco's specs.
I'm scared to even ask what it costs to rebuild the powershift.
Thanks for any help

sw mn | Cut your old filter apart and see what it looks like. Had one a few years ago that acted up. Couple bearings had went out and ended up ruining a hard to find shaft. And ya, if it ends up going like ours did get your check book ready. |

| I would highly reccomend stopping and cutting the filter open look for steel, we had the same thing happen and light came on changed sensor changed filter numerous times and ended up a bearing was going bad in our 9670 agco allis and it shelled the transmisson in road gear. We ended up sending the tractor down the road got 20 grand for it from cook tractor. Lang Diesel said 45000 to rebuild the transmisson. Tractor had 4500 hrs on it |

Shelburne Ontario Canada | Those tranny have self contained hydraulic . The pump on the back is well known to spit the bearing out the back . As pump bearing is wearing an flying apart it pumps well at times an other times not so well. Biggest prob is tractor needs split bascicaly rite below the front of ur seat evens to inspect. I fixed one yhat guy thot hey light goes out at 2100rpm he can finish harvest but it cost him alot of discs! Tranny rebuild is no big deal. Mainly labour and matter of the rite tools . I did 5 or 6 of those yr back |

canada | I cut the last filter open and this one. No filings, the filter paper is grayish but no flakes of clutch material or metal. I assume I'm looking for the same product as an automatic transmisison pan? Put a new filter on it and ordered a sending unit. I'm going to get it home and park it until I can change the sending unit and hopefully figure out how to test the old one. In the wiring schematic in the operators manual it looks like it needs 100 psi backpressure to trip the valve so I should be able to test it with air...
Thanks for the help
