EC IA | Yesterday I had Altorfer's come out, diagnose and repair an electrical issue on my 1064. In conversation with the technician he told me that wheel motor replacements with reman wheel motors are now $10,000 each.
My question is: is there any less expensive option than this? I have 2400 hours on mine and know that it could happen at any time.
I was very happy with work that was done and know it will be expensive but he got me going which was very important! TIA |

| Does that include labor? A neighbor had one go and said they spend lots of time flushing and filtering
the shavings out of the oil. That was quite a few years ago, he said $9,000. He traded his for green. |

EC IA | This Tech said if you have one go that you should haul it down to Clinton, IL store. They have a flushing machine that will clean all hydraulics to prevent it taking the others out because of metal shavings? |

| We had a 854 with 5500 hours on it when we sold it and never had to replace a wheel motor but a good friend of ours had an identical 854 and at 4000 hours he had to replace a wheel motor and he said it cost him 8000 and that was 7 or 8 years ago.... They are not cheap we crossed a lot of fingers hoping our motors held out till we got something different |

NE ND | My 854 just rolled to 4000 hrs. I make sure on Sunday to put a plug in there with the big guy up above to keep those babies working! So far I have had no issues. Grease zerks about every 500 acres. |

Soutwest Ks. | The wheel motors on those machines were a constant nagging concern when I used to run one. Finally decided to dump mine as I didnt have enough acres to justify the risk. Went back to a pull sprayer and for the acres I run I am much happier. Looking at ads over the last several years I can see that there is no reliable pattern for their failure. Some are changed at low hours and the next one will run for thousands of hours. Maintenance schedule? |
