| Hi guys,
I will be using Sonic pre-emergent herbicide at a rate of 5-6 oz per acre this year on my soybeans. I don't have any experience with it or much with pre-emergent in general. Can you spray in say a 10 mph wind? What will it do to off target plants (ex. grass, wheat, alfalfa, oats). You get the idea, that is what will be butting up to my fields. Does it affect growing plants at all or is it going to be just below ground? Thanks in advance for your insight. |

NE Indiana | 5-6 oz is pretty high for pre emerge in the spring.(according to our chemical rep) would be fine in the fall. We spray 4 oz here about 2 weeks before planting (3rd week of april or so) and that gets us into late june early july before we spray again. last year we had a field we couldn't get back in to spray and it was still mainly clean at harvest. |

| 5 oz is high ? My agronomist recommended that rate to spray after I plant. Interesting. Organic matter is 4.9% if that even matters. The label says even higher rates than I am spraying. You have my attention. I will look into it. |

NE Indiana | I too read the label and if I remember right it said up to like 8 oz per acre. So I asked my Chem rep about it because we only ordered enough for 4 oz per acre and she said that high rate is for fall application and that she wouldn't recommend using more than 5 max in the spring and that 4 was a good safe rate. I accepted that answer because it's not very often a rep doesn't want to sell more product |

| it will be hard on wheat. With you organic matter levels I would get too concerned over 6 oz but wouldn't go higher |

Belmont WI | Remember sonic has to be applied within 3days after planting. If you go pre plant then no worries. I use 3 oz and that rate works great. |

| Central Minnesota 3-4% om. 3.5 oz was ok when there was only a little rr resistance. 4 oz ok but you will need flexstar post. Used 5 oz for non gmo, still a few get through. |
