I would like to know what this attachment is on the front. I have no clue to how it works or what it is suppose to do. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks (Grinder.jpg) Attachments ---------------- Grinder.jpg (224KB - 145 downloads)

Redickville, Ont | There's no picture but I assume it's hay table. Grinding sqaure bales.

North West IA/western AZ | A couple more views would help. It looks a little like a sheller cage but I don't see a cob ejector. Never seen one like it.

Leesburg, Ohio | Corn sheller attachment. Ear corn runs in the top square section at the end of the load auger. Shelled corn gets augered up the tube that points toward the center of the tank, and slides down the angled tube into the grinder receiving hopper. Cobs and shucks get blown out the curved spout. Had one just like it on a used 352 I bought at a sale, but never used the sheller, took it off before we used the grinder.

Pittstown, NJ | Gehl had something similar. Think Haban built them for both companies.

NE KS | Aren't cobs and shucks supposed to be good for a ruminant animal? Maybe it would be used for hogs, but cattle can handle the cobs and excess I think

NE Iowa | We would grind whole ear corn for cattle but for hogs we would engage the sheller on the mill and it would shell the corn before it ground it. The cobs would be too much roughage and not ground fine enough for hogs.

Pittstown, NJ | You don't want cobs in chicken mash, either. That's how I know about the Gehl sheller attachment. When I was a kid there was a chicken farm a few miles away that had one.
