Ludington/Manistee MI area | Just out of curiosity what were the original Steiger dealers in Michigan, Indiana, Illionios, and northwest Ohio? I'm talking the true green Steigers not the CIH's with a Steiger emblem. |

WCIN | Fagg Oliver Sales & Svc. was the Stieger dealer in my area. Terre Haute IN. They sold a bunch of those tractors but the dealership didn't last long after the buyout to Case. |

Bethany, MO | At the time of the demise, Fran Bogner in Beaver Dam, WI and Rodger Menn in Taylorville, IL were the territory reps for Steiger. I worked for them from '86 to '88.
I rode in the very first Steiger with an Allison Automatic at Terry Warner's in NE IL (Warner Impl. in Kewanee?) in the late 70's. Steven's Impl in Litchfield was a dealer. George Dunn in Farmer City and Clinton, Tim Rieser was the manager in Clinton. They were IH. Like others have said, Walker Schork in Rochelle, Dave White Implement. There were others, I think Galesburg? Around Effingham? Around Arthur? Those are the ones I remember. I'd have to study the map a bit for it to come back! |

Saranac, Michigan | Know this about dealers but my first knowledge of them was about 1975. I went to Fargo to look at an asphalt plant. We went into the shop and there were these stange "Terex green tractors" it was explained to me that they were Steigers. They were painted there, not owned by th Jens Tennefos family.
For a Michigan guy that thought a big tractor was a 4020 they were very impressive. |
Hennepin, IL | It was Warner's Turbo Shop in Kewanee. Our 310 came from there, dad and uncle also bought a 10 bottom Wilrich plow from him at the same time too. Dad claims he was a pretty interesting guy and must've had some ties with Cummins too. After they put about 50 hours on that tractor, Terry himself flew out to the farm (there was an air strip next door at the time) turned the fuel screw a few times, then flew back to Kewanee. |

| I am going purely by memory but Dave White sold Steiger's before he picked up his first John Deere franchise. That is, his Steiger dealership was in the country with a Cerro Gordo, IL mailing address (he advertised to "flying farmers" having a landing strip at the dealership). After that, he began selling JD's in Atwood,IL and later had a JD dealership in Curryville, MO. John Beery serviced Steigers at his place near Milmine, IL until the recent past (drove by his place yesterday). |
