So did they copy CaseIH or John Deere? Now we are going to be all confused who copied whom. (Sarcasm). I do like their big 4x4 tractors to that would be neat to see.

Hard to copy when the same person (worked for CAT and later Camoplast / Camso) is doing most of the design work for 3 of 4 brands of tracked tractors.

Challenger MT 700 & 800 and likely the MT900

Deere 8000RT, 9000RT & 9000RX

Versatile Delta track

And a little company in Oregon called Omnitrac had a belted quad before CIH came out with their belted 4x4. In fact they had belts on a CIH that looked very much like the CIH version when it first came out.
I also knew of a farmer in Washington that actually put four steel Grip Tracks like those sold for combines on a JD 4x4 tractor to get better traction on steep hillsides. The noise was terrific.

Omnitrac is no longer making belted tractor conversion systems. The BTO's have the market now. http://www.omnitrac.com/

Isn't that a picture of a Versatile/Mobile Track Solutions scraper tractor marketed by Caterpillar dealers? Cummins engine with a Cat transmission.....?

Looked a lot like that. Can't say for sure exactly alike though. Had no identifying decals whatsoever, but was definatley Cat yellow.

It was probably a Mobile Track Solutions. MTS is a company in Iowa that sells scrapers. They paint Versatile delta tracks yellow and sell them with a scraper.

I saw one similar to that going thru Washington, Iowa the other evening. It was more white than yellowish.

Just the opposite here, if I could get into a Case row crop track machine for a reasonable price our challenger would be gone. I like our challenger but I'm less impressed with altorfer more every time I deal with them.

Someone is going to chime in here soon and fuss about AGCO's decision to stop producing orange tractors too. I can feel it coming.

What will be next after tracks are no longer good enough?????!!!!!! Tires have been good for how many years now got to have tracks. Draper heads are now the greatest thing ever but if you look at the combines of the 60's they were all drapers!!

Southeast Washington
The tracks are just like the draper headers. They are the new and improved. In our hills in the PNW tracks have always ruled since the 40's. They were steel tracks and worked well until the 80's when the farms got larger and required a lot of breaking down from equipment and hauled on trucks and trailers to get from field to field. Tracks are far from a new idea. They are refined to be mobile and to handle the high horsepower and to do things in our area that they have never gotten tires to do.

The Commies put 4 tracks on the Belarus long before CaseIH put them on their machine too.
