I bought a 2016 10 ton 25' gooseneck trailer direct from Gatormade trailers several weeks ago . I am not the type to complain but this trailer has been a complete headache and they have done me wrong. Trailer totaled $8100 delivered to NC . Could of went with any trailer company for that money. Gonna keep it short but they will not stand by the trailer . Cannot get anybody on the phone , warranty process points the finger to the axle company . Then they say its a gatormade problem . I am in the middle of this ( hours on hold and countless calls ) for a week before a part is even shipped . Two weeks later I'm getting my trailer back and the trailer repair shop says they would only cover 1/2 hour labor so I'm responsible for 2 hours labor . My advice for anyone in the market for a trailer is to go with your local trailer manufacturer . This trailer has less than 1000 miles ( 600 delivered ) . I am not here to complain about the little things I noticed , like the powder coat is already stripping off in long flakes . There wiring is exposed with buss connectors . Everywhere you look "made in china" Hopefully this will help someone , I'm done calling that crowd , I will pay the disputed labor before I call again tell my story to get put on hold and have nothing done about it !

What problems have you had with the trailer other than those listed?

Ludington/Manistee MI area | My local STO is fantastic. I had my wife stop in for the locking tabs for the wheel bearings when she went to pay he refused payment. Not the first thing he just handed over.

North Central Texas | I'm curious to know what required repair. Dozens of the 30ft + around here and most of them have been through oilfield hell with no complaints. The one we have pulled is built the better than anything on the market.

Northern Minnesota | I could have written the exact same post several years ago when I bought a 30' 24K Brute Force deckover goooseneck from Doolittle Trailers ("Proudly built in America") Holts Summit, MO.

blairsville,pa | Seems like they all are junk anymore. Bought a new 20' 10k gvw Appalachian skidsteer trailer in 2014. Towed it home from the distributor in ohio and noticed the paint was already coming off the frame and had 2 lights out. Next time I think I'll buy an old junk trailer for the title and just build what I want

NS Canada | You guys used to have such a nifty catch phrase down there... 'MADE IN AMERICA' Bragging, or disclaimer now?

Illinois | Depends. But apparently on trailers it's a disclaimer.

Northern Minnesota | Supa Dexta - 3/23/2016 02:41 You guys used to have such a nifty catch phrase down there... 'MADE IN AMERICA' Bragging, or disclaimer now? Excellent question/point! I find myself cynically commenting when making a purchase now, "I hope (this item) is at least Chinese Quality...." (When I see "Made in Canada" or "Made in Germany", my confidence level rises.... )

Driftless SW Wisconsin | In most cases, "Made in USA" does mean something! In gooseneck trailers I have had a Keifer 1000 10 ton gooseneck for years and a lot of miles. This is the best made trailer I have ever seen. Wiring is in steel conduit. Great welding. Oil bath axles. Came with decent tires. I like the single tube hitch design, you can generally see the load behind it. "Soldered and shrink wrapped" wiring in conduit. On any trailer, the quality of the electrical wiring back to the brakes may be the difference between stopping and an accident. Wiring is the first thing I look at when purchasing a trailer. Wiring is usually a sign of the quality level of the rest of the trailer. The problem usually comes in when folks want made-in-USA quality but an import type price, especially in trailers! Seems there are a lot of fly-by-night trailer manufacturers out there. The Keifer is probably a bit higher price than some of the southern made trailers but over the years probably a lot lower cost than the bargain trailers. Quality is not cheap. You will not go wrong with a Kiefer 1000. This is a quality Made in USA product! Edited by Jim 3/23/2016 08:27

The magnet in the backing plate was sticking , brakes dragging , hub overheating . Gatormade wants to pass me on to the axle company . Axle company says it's a Gatormade problem . I just want my trailer back , been polite about the the whole thing . I am in the equipment business and will continue to share my experience . It's a shame I was proud of my trailer before this . Anyway lesson learned

Mankato MN; Casa Grande AZ | I bought a 25' Keifer gooseneck 20 years ago to haul seed, roundbales, tractors, etc. It has a flip up beaver tail so I can use the entire length when I haul. 2 single wheel, 7000 pound axles. I have replaced the brakes, tires, and switched the lights to LED. Good luck!
