| I have a john deere 2955 with a sound guard body, therefore a hydraulic master and slave cylinder. the problem I have is that it keeps blowing the seals out of the slave cylinder, old part number is al66088 which is a two port cylinder, new part from deere is a al39242, which crosses up to al120029, and is a three port cylinder, not sure if that makes a difference. Installed new clutch in tractor in summer time the on very cold day in winter it blow out the seal the first time that was last year then just the other day if blow it out again just over a year, this tractor is used every day on a tmr mixer and there is no loader, any thoughts would be appreciated, thank you. |

The Internet | Do you have the right fluid in it? |
|

68340 | It is in the same class as yours, utility. Does yours have the updated cyl.? I had mine done 15 or 20 years ago. Cost me $400, JD paid for the cyl. I had to pay for labor, ect. In my case when you put the clutch in you had to wait like 10 or 15 sec. before putting it into gear or it would grind. Never blew the slave. |

| Agree. There is a DTAC solution. (80707) Malfunction on throw-out bearing AL 120028 and AL 120029. Customer complaint of a malfunction of throw-out bearing after a few hours of operation. Reason -brake oil contamination with mineral oil. This solution basically says that you are only supposed to use DOT4 brake fluid only and not mix. May not hurt to go to your dealer and have him print it off for you - it goes into more details. |

| I installed a new clutch and installed a new slave cylinder at the same time, then 3 months later it blow that one, then installed another one and a year later it blow, only using brake fluid and every time it goes I lose all fluid so it can not be from cross contamination. |
