1987 model with cab. On the local craigs list. My farm is small 150 acres. I run corn beans and hay. In the past I had a Deutz DX90, does this tractor have a similar transmission? Nice picture and low price. I could drive it home.

I think I saw that if it's the one for $5,000 ? Sounds like a scam or a steal. Those tractors are worth way more than that.
If it's real, I would buy it over the phone especially if you are close to it.

I would say so on the price. I just checked Auction Time, price must be wrong.

If it has multiple internal high pressure hydraulic leaks and debris from failed brakes damaging pumps and valves throughout the tractor, it may be overpriced at $5000.

I've never been a fan of 6 cylinder Dubuque or Mannheim 40, 50 or 55 series Deeres.

They must have forgot the 2 in front of the 5. We have two 2940's with high hours but get used more than any other tractors on the farm. We pull a 6 row planter with the one with mfwd. with no problem. I like getting out and one step to the ground. They will pull a 5 bottom plow but not our 11 shank coulter chisel. Just to compare I would take a 2955 over a 6400 or 6410. 2955 will out work them and ride better. If the hydraulics don't chatter at idle and has less than 5000 hrs. I would buy one if nice.

Didn't start making 2955s till 1989. Also there is no way I would waste any of my money on another german maid 55 series. We had one from 1996 till 2008. Mechanical and electrical nightmare.

+1 Our 2940 was the most expensive tractor on the farm due to repairs.

+2. Easily the worst tractor I ever owned. The repairs never ended. Mine was basically one of the last 40 series built and even had 50 series interior and a few other things.

The 2955 2wd we own has been a good machine. Sure it has a dry clutch but so does the famous 4020 era models. Handy 16 speed syncro w/ power shift. Pull the 750 drill behind it no problem.
