Shelburne Ontario Canada | Check hr meter make sure there isnt a wee small 1 in front of the 3. If u show pics of hood, dash with key turned on,side console, brake pedals,if u have pics of all these things its easy to see if tractor has been screwed with or is still original. Very good tractors but most are getting high hours and are starting to make trouble. Know of a few that are heading for 20000 hrs
First pic is a late 99 early 00 up to 2002 dash with over 10000hrs. Next pic is a earlier tractor with the later dash installed see how the first pick shows a number fairly big -thatis the powershift gear the tractor is in . Early tractors were not capible of showing the gear . So if dash was updated it appears blank. Last pic is original dash97-98.

SESD | Absolutely by far my favorite case IH tractors for having a loader on. I would rather have a MX 110-170 loader tractor than a brand new one. Only issues I've ever dealt with are front hubs and clutch packs in transmission. Overall very very good tractors. My two cents. |

Boone, Iowa | I am using an MX135 mfd for my loader tractor. It is a handy and dependable tractor. I will pull the loader off in the summer and run moco, hay rake and other small jobs. One of my best buys. |

| It's the same tractor as the 5100/5200 series Maxuum with some updates. The wiring is not nearly the nightmare the old Maxuum's could be. The best loader tractor Case IH ever built as far as I'm concerned, and I have 10 years experience as a Case IH tech. The main down side is it's only a class 3 front axle, which is a little light for guys that pack bales on the front. A lot of them have the park brake burnt out and it's a big job to repair, rear end split. I'd overhaul the engine and transmission in one before I'd go to a newer series. |

Central,NY | I have a 2002 mx 120 I use it to cut rake and bale hay. I also pull a JD 750 drill with it and spray. It's my favorite tractor, it's been trouble free and the dealer tried to buy it back for what I paid for it the otherday. |

Boone, Iowa | Is the 170 a bigger frame than the 135 and 150 frame? |
