South Central Illinois

Back in the day Noble made a 3 bar coil spring harrow that mounted on the rear of field cultivators.

It had adjustments with the tine angle and it also had adjustable down pressure.

It was light weight and also heavy duty.

It helped to level fields.

Are they still in business?

I think the John Day Company sold them to dealers.

Does any other company make something similar?

Gates manufacturing also makes a set, maybe a little heavier though. Absolutely terrible web page though.

What was nice about the Noble was the round tine tube could be set to drag soil.

This made for a level seedbed.

Pictures of the Gates Harrow would be nice.

Please send them when you can.

The Roll-a-Cone does not appear to be sold separately.

I'm not sure what you mean "sold separately"? I can assure you they are. They are good to work with. They'll ship stuff out to a total stranger and send a bill later.

I need to look at the website again.

I did not find the harrows by themselves.

Their website is just the bare minimum of pictures showing what they offer.

You can tell them how many rakes you want, how wide, two ranks of tines or three, what tool bar size and they can give you a quote on what they will cost.

My OLD 2010 price list I have shows a two rank, single arm from the toolbar 5' wide unit would be about $500 list price.
3 rank, two arm 6'8" wide is $800 for example. No telling what prices have done since then, but maybe gives you an idea of what to expect.

I don't know where you are located, but we have a farm store in the area that is a dealer, and they get a significant discount off list price as a dealer, and can get stuff from roll-a-cone ordered through them cheaper than I can go pick it up at the factory.
