South cental Ohio | I'm looking at a 1995 8100 International tandem truck to pull grain trailers with and it has a 10 speed, L-10 Cummins. Will I be happy with it? I make short (under 10 mile) trips to the elevator and live in flat territory. What's a truck like this worth? It has 650,000 miles on it but is in above average condition and well maintained. |

Dearfield Co. | We got one of the first l10 engines in a IHC as a test mule from cummins . It pulled a set of Doonan doubles the 100000 miles we had it until IHC and cummins wanted it back . It was a full mechanical engine with not so great of fuel mileage. I bought a old leprino t600 with a electronic l10 to shuffle trailers and it was ok and did what we wanted it to for years until a farmer had to have it. if you are flat ground and less than 10 miles I say it would serve your needs well except if the small nose on the IHC would cause you issues with cooling. All of them I have been around run and pull good they just build lots of heat in long pulls |

SW Minnesota | I have had a 1988 Ih semi for 16 years purchased with 550000 miles , the first year had to replace head due to cracking. The l10 doses't have the most power but you will get by fine in level country. We pull a grain trailer with a 1000 bu. if you could get a oil sample before you purchase and check for antifreeze. If truck looks good and tires look good it should be worth $5000-$7000. |

| I have a 93 freightliner with a L10 330 clect in it. a 95 might be a clect plus, I cant answer on the clect plus! but I just had to replace ECM and all the injector harness and that was not cheap. after this ECM ordeal I would rather have a mechanical engine. I do have to change the fuel filters 2 times a year. I was told it because it sits to much. It is good on fuel! I pull a lot of long mountains and avg 35 miles to the elevator. Im running as a dump truck at 52000. idk if id want to pull 80,000 on a hill. flat maybe.
I paid 5500 at Richie brother 325,000 miles on it |

| I had a 1993 L-10 electronic that was rated at 330 HP. Was no power house like others have said. We always had to clean the ground cable from the engine to the frame to keep it from derating itself. Loaded semis with the big Cats could pass us even tho we were pulling an empty hopper trailer. Always thought an M-11 would be a better choice. |
