| Looking at a 7060 with power shift. 7500 hours. Anything to be concerned about? What is something like this worth on auction?
Thanks |

Ludington/Manistee MI area | We have had a 7060 since 04 very content with it. Other than making sure the power shift seems ok check your normal tractor stuff. Cab takes a little getting accustomed to. Ours was chasing the combine with the disc today. We paided $3750 for ours but it had sat 3-4 years in a guy's barnyard. Coughed up and drove it 110 miles home. Check over the shift cables they can be a pain if lose or worn. |

south central ky. | I have had a 7060 since 1992. Still running, very good tractor. It was turned up to 200 h/p. I left it there. I pull a 20ft int. disc without duells. No problem. Ran it over corn stalks with a 15ft rino all day today. Very pleased with it. |

| One of the best tractors you can buy for the money. Grandad bought ours new in '77, has 8000 trouble free hours on it now. Aslong as the powershift shifts properly and doesn't slip in any of the gears your pretty safe. If gladly buy another as the one I have is the main horse an has yet to let me down. |

Wallis, TX | Had a 7060 PS back in the 80's and it was a money pit. Transmission was 10K in '82. The engine O/H was more expensive than any green or red one I overhauled at the time and the crank had lots of wear for the hours on it. Hydraulic pump compensator valve would last about 1000 hours and was $700+ for the part alone. The cab was small and the A/C didn't work worth a darn here in SE Texas, may be fine where you're at. On the plus side, it did have dual PTO's. |

SeMN | Large numbers 7060 and black belly means newer. Usually good ones start right off. Run it wide open, see how much it smokes. Good injectors won't smoke much. Make sure it wasn't turned up or the rear end might be shot. Good cab interiors are hard to come by that old. Was one of the quietest and more reliable tractor we have had. The deluxe seat is real nice if it has it. Front weights are important or it will be hard to steer under load. Good hydraulics, but nothing like the newer tractors now. A working stadium light package is a plus. Can be converted to 134a Ac system. Ac is a must as this cab will get hot fast. Clutch should engage smoothly , a good one shifts through all the gears smoothly. First gear high to second gear high is the only one that is rough, 4.9 mph to 6.6 mph is the reason I think. Good luck. |

sw wisconsin | Black belly is best. Good heavy tractor in its day, ours has 12k hrs and still going. One overhaul at about 7k. |

SW Lower Michigan | I have had my 1980 power shift 7060 for 5 or 6 years and have been very happy with it. It has about 5000 hours on it. I only use it to pull a 6 row no till planter, 15' Batwing chopper, and 600 bushels in wagons. I can only guess at auction value, $5000-$10000 depending on condition of course.

NW KS/ SC ID | Excellent tractors, we have a last year maroon belly long axle Power director equipped unit that has served us very well.
The 7060 has the 4 pinion differential, and has nice gearing in the transmission for field work.
The powershift is a strong unit, we have one, but have not used it (project tractor with a bad engine) but we have heard from many that as long as you maintain it (oil and filter, and keep the cable in good shape) that they serve very well.
If its a maroon belly, a black belly step setup will make getting in and out of the cab much better. There is also an aftermarket door shock kit.
As far as a/c performance, good upholstery is a must, and adding a water shutoff for the heater helps alot.
