South Central Illinois | What is in Corvus corn herbicide? What blend of herbicides are included in the premix? What mode of actions are included? |
| |
NE Iowa | Corvus is a blend of Balance Flexx and a grass herbicide that doesn't have a brand name that I know. Balance Flexx has the active ingredient isoxaflutole which is a group 27 herbicide and is a HPPD inhibitor. The grass component has the active ingredient thiencarbazone which is a group 2 herbicide and is an ALS inhibitor. I used to use Corvus but after reading some horror stories on here I have switched to using Balance Flexx in a mix with generic Dual and Atrazine. |

South Central Illinois | Been using Halex GT. I need something that works better on Fall Panicum. The Callisto portion of Halex works good on the Pigweed group of weeds. Fall Panicum was thick this year, probably too much rain and ponded water. |

| Capreno plus a high rate of generic dual... Is what I would reccomemd you try.

South Central Illinois | Ok, You are saying that would be better than Corvus. What part of Corvus creates the issues? What are the issues that occur in the corn?

| I have never used corvus... It is not labeled in WI. Have had very good luck with 2.5-3 oz of capreno and 2-2.5 pts of brawln II. (Generic dual). |

South Central Illinois | Corvus is advertised a lot, maybe that is a here thing. The best corn herbicide available, is what it says. I think that is the best corn herbicide available from Bayer. |

La Grange, MO | We use Corvus in no till. If I worked ground I wouldn't use it just because your paying for stuff you don't need. Corvus gets risky on the amount you use and what types of soil you have. For us 4 oz an acre is a good rate any more and we risk crop injury. In order to use a full rate which now they say 5.6 oz you need soils high in organic matter. I mix that with acetachlor and atrazine. Had really clean corn at harvest even after all the rain we had this summer. |

| Like others said you are getting mostly a balance flexx herbicide that has had a little more "heat" added to it is my understanding. About half of our corn got it this year and I was very happy with it from both a burn down and a residual standpoint. We only run the 3.3 oz. use rate. Some fields we used it as a burndown at planting, others after emergence, others as a preemergent before planting. I was happy with it in all the different situations. |

Flora IL | We have used halex gt forever at this point and so does 99.9% of the rest of our neighbor's. I'd start mainly with it then if u gotta try something else then corvus. |

| Capreno is a Bayer product as well as corvus. Corvus is capreno plus an additional chemical. I think you would be better off using capreno plus gen dual than corvus. Also should save some $$ |
| |
NCIN | I use Crovus, conventional tillage. To save some bucks, I cut the rate by 10% this year. Still had excellent weed control regardless of all the rain. Next year will cut the rate by either 15 or 20%. |

SE Nebraska | I used Corvus and Atrazine early preplant and Halex GT and Atrazine post this year. Very happy with the results. Even after the 25+ inches of rain in May and June it held up well. |

| capreno is laudis plus the grass herbicide that is in corvus. corvus works if you use enough atrazine. i like it because 2.5 gallon does 57 acres at the full rate |
| |
South Central Illinois | The 57 Acres is a sprayer fill? |
| |
| no, not sure what you are asking. the full rate of corvus is 5.6 oz per acre. 2.5 gallon of corvus will cover 57 acres. lexar ez takes over 42 gallon to cover 57 acres |
| |
South Central Illinois | I was just wondering why the 57 acres per 2.5 jug was important. I had thought for a moment that your sprayer could do 60 acres per fill. I guess the lower use rate is what you like compared to other products. |
