So. IL | We have a 99 international 9100 that has a M11 that's set at 280 hp, and would like to turn it up some, maybe 330-350. Had independent shop try to do this and they said they can't, computer would not let them and mechanic said it needs to go to dealer to be reprogrammed and burned in. Anyone ever have one like this before? I'm going to try to find the cpl number and call cummins Monday and see what they can do. Will we need to remove the ECM for them to reprogram? Thanks

Soutwest Ks. | It will all depend on your CPL code. If you give a Cummins dealer the code, he can tell you what they can turn it to. In my experience they will not go past the CPL rating probably because of liability. The CPL takes into consideration the type turbo, pistons, transmission and differentials. The software to set hsp. is fairly expensive and some shops don't spend the money for that, however Cummins dealers will prob. have it. If you have the right CPL they can be turned to at least 370. So. IL | Thanks for the reply, is the cpl number on the tag on the side of the motor where all the other info is located? Thanks

Charlotte, Michigan | Yes the CPL number is on the left hand side of the engine where that tag is, below the valve cover.

northwest Iowa | I have a 2000 International with the ISM engine that was set at 280 when I got it. I took it to an International dealer and they turned it up to 400 which they said was the maximum. Night and day difference but it was around $700 to do it. Some of the best money I ever spent though. Phil

They can be turned to 400 with the right CPL. This one is 400 with an Allison auto behind it and 46000 pound Hendrickson full locking rears . northwest Iowa | I forgot to mention that it also had a 3 minute idle shutdown and a 60 mph max speed. They turned that stuff off to but I don't know if that added to the cost. Phil

Moreauville LA | This may not work, but try your case dealer From 1999-2006 I ran a 1997 Case IH Austoft cane harvester. The M11 was used in those machines at either 330 or 350. I was having some hydraulics worked on and while the dealer was there I inquired. His response was, let me finish with this and I'll do it. Takes 5 minutes. Now if all are setup equally as far as intake, turbo, injectors and so on, I haven't a clue. But it did the trick
