Any brand preference?

I wear Big Smith, but they sure seem kind of thin from the factory.

Round house? Anyone have any experience with them?

Thanks

I've worn Carhartt blue denim bibs for years. Have had good luck.

I've worn Big Smith ever since Lee quit making overalls, BIL encouraged me to try Roundhouse, ordered 2 pair. They are lots tougher than the paper thin Big Smiths, but the pockets are smaller, shallower, not even deep enough for the clip on your pen to work, front pockets are shallow, and the opening are small, , the adjustment on the straps is a pain to adjust, BUT it won't slip. With this said, I just might order some more pairs.

If you have trouble keeping your straps on top of your shoulders, you will like Roundhouse.
Order them a little big on the waist maybe 2 inches, mine shrunk a little.

i've been trying different ones. I like the fit of big smith, but i had a pair that was worn out in less than 2 months, material just does not
stand up. Dickies....ok, but they like to rip all the time, Liberty, good....like the zipper pocket on the bib to put the stuff you don't want to
loose, key, ok, good material, but had a problem with one of the buckles, it was too small for the button, needed to adjust it.
never have gotten a pair of roundhouse, and found carhart a bit on the expensive side around here. I can usually get a pair from $32 to $38
around here. local place had a surplus sale, if you were a 32 or less, you could get brand new overalls for $4 !!!

Bib overalls??? Seriously??? Why would anyone wear such an awful looking outfit? Do you want to portray yourself as a backwoods hillbilly? Shirt and blue jeans is how a farmer in 2015 should look, unless it is really hot then shorts are acceptable.

I'll tell you why. I have no ass. I mean it's flat as a frying pan back there.

If you've never had to deal with it you'd be surprised to find out that belts alone don't hold up pants. They need a shelf to catch on as they try to slide to the floor.

It's either bibs or suspenders, I'll take bibs for comfort over the latest fashion every time. I know it's fashionable in 2015 to wear your pants half way to your knees, but it'll never catch on with my crusty old butt.

What kind of grown man uses the word "outfit?" "How farmer should look like it 2015." How about who the hell cares as long as he's comfortable and can do his job. But then again Steve must want to look at my ass all day working because I have no ass to keep my pants up either. I don't swing that way but apparently Steve does cause it's 2015 and all. That's a classy look! And I wear Keys.

I always thought bibs looked silly until I tried some on myself. I've worn them for almost ten years, and I'm 34 years old! You just have to wear them with confidence and no one will say a word... Love having the extra pockets too.

I wear keys or big smith, round house sizes are different than the others. They run a bit smaller so I buy next size larger. I don't care what people think about my overalls. I have no ass either and I hate lookin at my coworkers and bosses ass when they bend over. I used to wear jeans and a belt, one day I was up on a flatbed trailer and jumped off. I hit the ground standing but my pants went to my knees. I was in a menards unloading a load of lumber. Very embarrassing worn bibs ever since and that was 25 years ago. There aint nothing that says proud farmer like a pair of bibs!!!

They are very utilitarian for work. No question about it. I quit wearing them when we got rid of the livestock. Too hot for me. I don't have a problem with them on the farm or at the elevator or whatever. What drives me nuts is going to a supper club or even a nice tavern and see some joker in his "good" bibs. They definitely have their place but there are also places where they scream "hill rod".

Another farmer-trucker that has no butt, but do have a little belly, but to top that off have a stomach condition that doesn't like being girted down like a saddle on a horse, will wear trousers when I have to, but the suspenders are carrying the load. If you don't like the looks of my bibs, look the other way.

Years ago when suspenders were in fashion I asked a girl I was dating if she liked a man in suspenders..........her reply was "not if he really needs them".

Pretty much says it all (LoL)

Same here. I wore overalls for the first couple decades, but have primarily been in jeans for about ten years now. I haven't spent a day in overalls since the pigs left in 2012.

However, as I get older and farther away from my previous football player physique, my belt seems to get less effective at holding my pants up. If it gets much worse I'm probably going to need to try suspenders or revert back to overalls.

IMO bibs are far more acceptable than shorts. Farmers either look ridiculous in shorts, or look like a BTO that is headed off to a golf match. Anyone can make anything look trashy if they try hard enough. I have seen many guys make bibs look quite professional.

Ron/PA, my wife got a kick out of that cause I've gotten to look the same way. She says I look like a stick figure. Personally I like suspenders except when the buckle catches something and opens up. Bibs are too warm for me.

Shorts work for me,I would rather not have broken out legs from the moisture, even with corn starch or powder every morning. Plus I have mild psorisis and the sun helps keep that in check. Cargo shorts, a belt with pliers, and Red Wings. Carhart makes some pretty tough shorts. Some jobs you can't wear shorts though.

I wear key bibs pretty much everywhere except Church, but I have worn them there a couple of times. I wear them every day for every job hot or cold and when we square bale I wear them with a long sleeve shirt. I wear them because they are comfortable and functional and I don't give a crap what you or anyone else thinks.

Mostly Keys. Bibbs took a little getting used to, but seemed to be a good answer to everything I needed to carry. Cell phone, multi tool, knife, Glock, and the odds and ends I might need on a given day. I hate feeling like my pants are falling off working under a piece of equipment. Far more comfortable running a piece of equipment, too. Perhaps I am beyond worrying what some yuppie thinks I should look like.

I wear a belt over a long T shirt under the bibs for the Glock17. I currently use a Blackhawk Serpa holster with a retention lock. I also carry a Ruger LCR in a pocket holster at times that will go in a chest pocket nicely, or in a pants pocket if concealment is necessary. Open carry is legal here, but not commonly practiced.

It's a free country my man. You are entitled to wear whatever you want. It is a good thing you don't care what anyone thinks because a lot of people surely think you are a hill rod if you are wearing them every where you go. Bibs are great for working on the farm or going to the elevator or farm supply store. Beyond that they really need to stay on the farm. It perpetuates a stereotype that many of us are trying to get out from under in the 21st century. Do you have a blade of foxtail or piece of straw in your mouth when you go to down dressed in your bibs?
