| Neighbor lost a Super M to fire a couple of weeks ago--total loss. Is there enough experience out there with the N model to make an informed new purchase decision? Crop is 2.5-3 ton/acre timothy hay, 2000 bales per year. We normally twine tie with biodegradable sisal. It will run on a 540 RPM, 100 PTO hp tractor.
The alternative would be JD 569. Dealerships are all 3 hours away, no matter which color.
You experience or opinions would be appreciated. |

Northwest iowa | I just got one this summer to replace a 605superM. I like the clutch that shuts of the pickup while wrapping, otherwise about the same as previous model. |

Kingdom of Callaway - Fulton, Mo 65251 | I bought a 604N this spring and love it. I've run 800 bales and have done nothing to it except grease it and load more net wrap. Vermeer had some sort of update and the dealer came out and put a heavier sprocket on the pickup. I really like the moisture sensor, never had that before. If its a little damp, jump to the other end of the field.
I would buy another one. |

SC Iowa | I have a 605N, I think the baler is good but as an older guy I hate the monitor, way too complicated. Several things on it are poorly designed and laid out, some just plain dumb. I gave one of the electrical engineers an ear full but I doubt they will change it. I think if you can run a smart phone you will be OK. I was used to the accubale monitor and anyone could figure it out in about 2 minutes. |

| Got one this year and like but pickup shutoff has had a bearing go out at 1600 bales and i think it about out again at 2950 it spins inside the housing but overall it been agood baler. Like the new monitor compared to the super m but my last super m was the best baler ever had. |

Storla SD | I got a new 605N Cornstalk Special last year. Put up 5000 cornstalk bales with no problems. The best baler I have been around. |
